Reduce/eliminate nausea from large enemas

I know not to take an enema after a large meal. Wait at least 3 to 4 hours, and for newbies it's a good idea to add sea salt to the solution to balance your electrolytes and avoid dizziness.

Luck of the draw, I'm sure, but I'm very grateful I've never had even the slightest whiff of even mild nausea with an enema, and I commonly take 4 quarts with a longish 30-60 min hold. One single time I took 5 quarts but still no nausea. I find nausea to be such a profoundly awful sensation that if I had almost any chance of having to deal with it during an enema I'd very likely not take any more enemas except for absolute medical requirements.

I've mentioned elsewhere, that before I had my open-heart surgery, I would sometimes get sweaty, light-headed, and nauseous while cramping from an strong enema. After by-pass surgery this didn't happen again.

ETA: I should mention that my enemas were only 2qt at the time.

I would echo what others have said. I am not sure why you give yourself enemas, but if it's for pleasure, then you need to change things up.

If 4 quart enemas are making you nauseas, then experiment with decreasing the volume down and see where the nausea stops occurring-3 qts, 2 qts, 1 qt. etc. I would not be so focused on making it to 4 quarts to feel like you have a good enema. You may want to reduce volume and increase the number of enemas you do.

You need to start doing things differently to find what works and stops the nausea.

Try to not have a big meal before, and try to go slow. 4 quat is quite a big volume and you may need to go slower.

You should also maybe consider a different temperature and change positions.
