Yeah, be totally careful of your talcum powder.
-talc is a close cousin of asbestos that is easily airborne and creates a dust cloud when in use. the mineral talc isn't exactly the sweet, little feathery stuff we mistake it for; its actually tiny, slippery metal plates that coat the skin and allow easy, gliding contact with no chaffing. now do you really want metal in your cajones?
-that's not all. talc will bond with the sensitive layer of pink skin found lining the anus, vag, and pecker. this 'bonding' calls for talc to soak into the skin, react, and dissolve, almost 'eating' away at the outer layer, leaving the itchy, raw layer of dermis underneath exposed. this is an excruiciating expirience for the baby. and i'm speaking from expirience from that one.
-yes talc causes breathing problems. the talc deposits are too small to filter out through the tiny hairs in your airway and be expelled through sneezing and coughing if need be. some will actually elude lung 'security' and make a home in your lungs. this buildup will lead to breathing problems, if not, cancer. some of you mentioned you had bronchitis, allergies, ashtma, etc. did your mother use talc on you as a baby? that's probably why.
-and that's still not all. talc is expecially a hazard to baby girls. in addition to her lungs, the uterus isn't safe. talc deposits have been found in the ovaries of women, resulting in ovarian cancer. talc buildup in the wahoo will cause a paste that blocks urination; and we all know the frustrating, painful feeling of having to pee and we can't. when me and my mommy switch roles, and i powder her, she will sometimes complain of burning down there.
(this was all according to mommy's rantings)
ok, so we all know talc is toxic by now, right? the solution is right on the shelf next to it--cornstarch powder. cornstarch is not metal, only absorbant due to its soft nature. it never penetrates the lungs or ovaries, it never eats at your skin, and im never changed without it. and talc is never making a debut in my house again.
hope it helps.
