Do large volume enemas give you a headache / How to prevent this?

Recently I've increased my enema volume. This has caused slight headaches... I've read that the cause could be to much water absorbed though the colon wall. Ok, what do you do about this?

I notice my sinuses clearing out during/after an enema as well, even when it isn't in the shower. I have NO idea why, it shouldn't affect that, but it seems to be a pretty consistent correlation. It's not permanent, my nose returns to normal after 4-6 hours.

I would think this would be likely to reduce a headache, though.

May I propose you to try to mix 9 ‰ cooking salt or 14 ‰ baking soda to the water of your enema. a such mix will prevent such problems. The difference between salt and baking soda is that salt is bad for arteries and baking soda not. Don't mix a part of each one, this will be pure fantasy and results will never be enhanced positively.

Can the Salt or baking soda be added to a soap enema?

I have never had this problem, but need to qualify this. If I'm doing a quickie fill to capacity, I don't try to hold it; so there's minimum water retention. All other large enemas (I take no other kind) have quite a lot of salt, even when they're basically soapsuds enemas. These I hold until I'm helpless and overcome without any headache. The following rinse of plain water I don't hold. Hope this helps you to enjoy being stretched!

I've always gone for quality over quantity, so I'm not speaking from experience, but I have read/hear that a saline solution, or baking soda, as suggested in other post, will work to ameliorate the headache issue. It won't hurt to try.

Come on, Arthur. Nobody uses special characters like that where they have to dig into spreadsheets to find that character for common use especially when giving medical prescriptions.

The character you used isn't even on my keyboard.

Americans and medical professionals do not use that unit of measure.

At the very least, that unit is confusing and misleading.

I have set thousands of IV's in my career and never saw those units of measure anywhere.

If you are giving formulas for chemicals to be put into the body, you have to use common medical units--which means metric or percent %

And if you really want to be an annoying know-it all you can call it "per mill."

The per mille character is in everyday use in at least some European countries, so I don’t think Arthur is being intentionally obscure here.

But for maximum clarity: you use 9 parts per thousand of table salt (0.9%, 9 grams per litre), or 14 parts per thousand of sodium bicarbonate (1.4%, 14 grams per litre). This balances the concentration of sodium in your bloodstream so that there is no net gain or loss of water from your colon.

I have had light head aches with warm 100 to 105F enema with soda, and loading up like you've mentioned. My solution:

Enema with less than body temperature encourages better expulsion of entire load.

Don't Take in so much. Try putting a belt around just above belly button and going below edge of ribs. This will give more sensation in traverse colon felt as a trickle when Enema temperature is in low 90's to mid 80's. You will have more fun with less expansion and less water. We need not make our eyes float and ears pop to have fun. Try variety instead of quantity.

No, not that much later. You would notice it within a few to several hours.

Headache, like lethargy or nausea is a sign that you are going at it too hot and heavy. Slow down a little

Been doing enemas for >50 years, usually 4 quarts but once up to 5 quarts of water, soap or saline. Never ever had a headache or nausea with any of them, but if I ever do or have sharp abdominal pain, I'll definitely change my practice. So far I'm just enjoying myself and the enemas are a great help in stimulating my aging orgasms.

To me, that's actually one of the perks or joys of taking a bigger enema. In addition to the distention, that feeling of the water weight inside me holding me down is almost a mild form of bondage. And the struggle to stand up from the bathroom rug, feeling your belly weight making it more difficult to get up is a delightfully submissive one. One of my favorite parts of a big enema. It's also part of the reason I wear sneakers for enemas. Among other things (like I find them erotic because I have a sneaker fetish), I want sneakers on my feet as I turn over and struggle to get up from the bathroom rug after a large enema with all the water weight holding me down - sneakers are very comfortable but also stable and give good traction on the floor as I move to the commode or walk around holding the enema.

No, I'll take an enema to knock out a headache, which occurs if I overstressed or irregular. I don't take enemas more than 2 quarts, so I don't have that problem.

Back a few years ago, I got into the habit of taking several 2 quart bags of pure water in each enema session.

Why did I do that?

I really learned to enjoy the erotic feeling that large volume enemas gave me.

However, I soon learned that after taking those kind of enemas, I would get horrible headaches in the lower back of my head.

To relieve the pain, I tried headache pills, but they did not help.

A friend of mine, who was a nurse, told me to try laying on an ice bag. I did, but having to do that after each large volume enema session was too much of a burden.

As a result of my reading those posts, I decided to try that procedure and I soon found that I no longer suffered from those severe headaches.

My RN grandmother taught me to add a teaspoon of salt an a teaspoon of baking soda to each quart of a warm water enema the summer of 1957. She explained, using warm water by itself, would cause the colon to draw water into the bloodstream changing the blood Ph level, which you don’t want. To stop this from occurring, always use salt and baking soda in your enemas.

In any case, if san enema gives you a headache, you probably want to take it a little easier!

Wait longer between rounds

Easier on the caffeine in the hours before the enema.

Maybe use a weaker solution of whatever you are using

No, never, including water, saline or mild Castile soap. Not in 53 years of taking enemas.
