In the childhood, corner time after a spanking was a standard part of my dad's spanking procedure. After a spanking, I was almost always told to stand in the corner and think about my behavior and what I learned or was supposed to learn from my punishment. My dad's actual words usually were "now put your nose in the corner and think about your behavior and what you are learning from your punishment/spanking". My hands were to be folded behind my back. When younger, before age 14, my pants and underwear were supposed to stay down at the ankles while in the corner. Age 14 and 15 I was allowed to pull up my underpants but not pants. On occasions though corner time was bare even at age 14 and 15, if Dad was particularly upset or angry about my behavior or attitude, or if I was spanked together with my younger brother, either for shared misbehavior or on a report card day if we both had poor report cards meriting (in Dad's opinion) a spanking for us both, or after a P/T meeting. When we got spanked together, Dad spanked us the same way, and for corner time he went by the age of the youngest which was my brother. So when we were spanked together and my brother got bare corner time, I got the same too, even when I was 14 or early 15.
Other punishments to go with spankings included grounding and extra chores.
Some times I got grounded as a complete punishment on its own, but just about as often, if I was getting grounded, it meant a spanking _and_ grounding afterwards.
I also sometimes got extra chores in addition to a spanking. Sometimes they were added to my chores chart, other times I got to do them straight away, usually some sort of cleaning in or around the house: mopping floors, wiping out dust from shelves and furniture, scrubbing kitchen floor, cleaning the sinks, cleaning the bathroom, sometimes helping to wash windows (not alone, window cleaning was always with parents), sweeping the porch or watering plants in the yard and raking leaves. Had to do it with my behind still burning from dad's paddle or belt.
