High volume realities?

Voy forums has a thread in which many people talk about taking very large enemas, 6 quarts or so and retaining them for lengthy times. I've been an avid enema user for 65 plus years and still am in my early 80s. I've never pushed myself over 3 + quarts. I do do two or three sessions of several enemas a week with continuing pleasure and sexual delight.

My question is, how many enemaphiles really take these high volume enemas, if so do you hold them for long periods, say 20 - 60 minutes and are they painful?

I for one do not. Only because I am typically very busy and never have spent the time to push my limits further. I was introduced to enemas in my late teens, which I feel is later in life then most, that can take very large enemas. That being said , I truly believe if you constantly push your volume limits, often enough, you could possibly take these very large volume enemas.

Ive done three quarts before.... I could tell there was no room left for expansion. Now days I just stick to two quarts. its plenty to get the job done and feel nice and full. I'm calling BS on a lot of the volumes I've seen talked about here. I just don't buy that there is that much difference on human organ sizes.

The maximum I can take is six quarts. I usually take 4 quarts but have reached 6 quarts by weight allowing for what was retained from previous fillings. Only a few times have I reached 6 quarts by taking a gallon bag and then adding two more quarts. I do not retain the enema after taking and have no desire to increase my volume. I'm not into pain and six quarts are not uncomfortable.

I don’t think all those stories of extraordinary volumes should be believed. I have never gone beyond three litres (just over three quarts), and have only done that once or twice. My regular volume was 2.5 litres for a long time, but recently I have pulled that back to 2 litres, which feels just as good.

I'm 65 and did 2-2.5 quarts for decades since being a teen. After a year of reading Zity and slowly practicing I went comfortably up to 3->3.5->4->-4.5 quarts. I've done 4 q many times now and it's pretty much a standard good large enema for me. One single time last year I wound up doing 5 quarts sort of unintentionally by filling with my 2.5 q bag and then refilling it and starting again. I just intended to do maybe somewhat over 4 quarts but was very relaxed and by the time I had slowly flowed and pumped in what I wanted, it turns out I had taken the whole second bag as well equaling 5. It felt fine, with somewhat more pressure and distention than 4 but not painful. I have no interest now in doing more than 4-4.5 q again because it feels fine and lets me retain it as long as I want which is frequently 30-60 minutes at 4 q. I could conceive of doing more than 5 just to test it and see what it felt like but I'm really not interested in trying it given the satisfaction and eroticism of 4-4.5. Incidentally I also have a few small diverticuli so have no reason to push for more beyond my current success. The longest I've ever retained 3.5-4 q has been a couple of times when I was timing it but happened to fall asleep and held it for just over 60 minutes. I'm very satisfied with my current volume and holding times. More power to you guys in the >5 quart club.

I regularly do 4 qts of plain water and hold it for ten or fifteen minutes while I set my equipment up for the next fillking or go about putting it away, depending on how much time I have. I release it because I know I need to get it out, not because I feel an urge. Sunday I did five and six quarts and held them for the same amount of time and for the same reason released it. I imagine that if I put soap or something like that in the water I would feel the urge to release much more strongly, but I do not want chemicals going into my colon and messing up the biology that is in there.

I've read so many posts I've forgotten, so do you take your 4-6 quart enemas frequently for any sort of medical need or always for sexual stimulation? Is it always plain water? Can you do 4-6 at any time or do you need to clean out waste a couple of times with smaller enemas before getting in the 4-6 quarts? I usually do 4 and one single time did 5 which felt very close to 4 with just a bit more pressure and distention. Since I've had absolutely no pain or even much cramping with those volumes, I could imagine going a bit fuller since I do really love the pressure/distention feelings. Mine are usually normal saline or occasionally a mild Castile soap enema which causes very few cramps (1/2-1 tsp/quart), held for 20-60 minutes. Mine are all for submission and sexual stimulation to help me produce orgasms.

I can take 6 qts of plain tap water anytime, but the problem is that I have a 4 qt bag, so I have to get up and top it off part way through the procedure, which is awkward, so I do not do it very often. I use a 3' colon tube so that puts the water a ways from my rectum, which may reduce pressure on it, hence, feelings of discomfort. I imagine that Suzi would have something to say about it, though. I run the water in slowly, taking at least 15-20 minutes to empty the bag, so I am not even aware of the water going in. I have not had cramps for a couple of years, which is nice because they cause less enjoyment. I used to get great erotic satisfaction from my enemas, but for various reasons cannot get hard or even feel stimulation anymore,which is a disappointment.

My stomach is always empty or nearly so during an enema. I'm 6'0" and 240 lb, and my routine enema these days is 3-4 quarts of water, saline, or mild Castile soap at 1 tsp/quart. I enjoy holding 3.5-4 quarts for 15-60 minutes while rolling around, massaging, sometimes listening to a fantasy Domme explain what she's doing and sometimes napping. Then I either masturbate and orgasm still holding or do it while releasing on the commode. I've never had any nausea during or after any enema regardless of volume for 50+ years. I suppose I'm just a lucky one, but I guess some others seem to be predisposed to nausea under the right conditions during their enemas.

I've been taking large enemas for many years. I love all the sensations involved in enemas. I especially enjoy the very full feeling and distension when taking very large volumes. I routinely take 5 qts to 6 qts. I use a 10 qt plastic bucket in which I installed a threaded plastic fitting in the side of, just above the bottom. I usually fill it to 9 qts with 100 degree water, once in a while with Ivory soap. I usually fill while standing, and hang the bag so that I don't exceed 2 psi of water pressure. While I love a fast fill, I can usually hold more if I adjust the flow to a trickle and fill for around 30 minutes. On a good day I have taken over 7 qts like that. My goal is always to take as much as I can hold without pain. I enjoy the "stress" right up to the point that it becomes pain, then, and I mean right then, I stop. Using the bucket lets me fill to capacity in one draw without having to mess with multiple bags or adding more water. On a few occasiions ( I wish it were more!) I've been given even larger enemas by a female partner. Their patient encouragement / insistence to take more helps, and I've been told that on a very few occasions they actually got me up to around 10 qts. Since the measurements weren't relaiable, it may have been closer to 9 than 10, but I am certain I have taken over 8 qts. I'm pretty sure my ileocecal valve opens with the rare really large fills. I have had no problems as a result of this, and return to normal function within a couple days of such large enemas.

My sisters and I were given distention enemas of between 4 and 5 liters as teenagers and we had to hold them for 45 to 60 minutes. They were quite uncomfortable, more so at first, less as we got used to them. We have continued giving each other these enemas or taking them on our own.

I always accept 5 quarts or more of warm tap water (not saline), but never hold it for long. RIght after reaching to the volume limit each time, I start releasing.

6 quarts? That's definitely far out of reach for me. The most I can regularly manage is 4 quarts, once going up to 4.5. I was full to my limit and very uncomfortably stretched tight, I can't imagine having the room for another quart or two on top of that.

I realize it varies a lot from one individual to the next, but for me it is going to be 4 qts pretty consistently.

I only take it to the limit about every two years or so, because 4-qt enemas are not easy to take!

As I've mentioned before, my usual is 4 quarts of water, saline or mild soap which I hold for 15-60 minutes just because I enjoy the distended belly feeling. It's accentuated by having a fantasy Domme running in my head, being strict and reminding me I have to hold it as long as she insists to satisfy her need for dominance. One single time I went up to 5 quarts which was a bit more pressure and distention than 4, but no pain and I really enjoyed it. It certainly felt like a lot of pressure inside, but not to the "stretched tight" level. Although 4 takes a while to get in, it's easy to accomplish. Having felt the sensations of 5 quarts, I can pretty easily imagine at least attempting to try 6 as some here say they do. Any pain on the way from 5 to 6 would make me stop right away. I guess I'm lucky that even the enema up to 5 quarts for 30 minutes holding never gives me a headache, nausea or other unpleasant symptoms some report on here.

A “normal” fill for me is between 2 and 3 quarts, typically lightly soaped with Dr. Bronner’s peppermint. I do notice a lot of variability in my ability to fill - sometimes maxing out at 1 quart; sometimes taking 3 with ease. To date, 3 has been my max. While I have no desire to go huge, I would like to get to a point where 4 quarts is possible, even if it takes some effort.

I suspect that, like most things, a slow and steady progression is the way to go so, in this case, from 3.00 to 3.25 to 3.50 to 3.75 to 4.00. I’d be interested in any advice that seasoned 4 quart practitioners might offer. For example, nozzle or colon tube? Speed of fill - slow or fast? Fill in increments with pauses or one continuous stream? Best position? Start with a smaller volume fill to empty out the bulky debris before tackling larger volumes?

In asking, I fully understand that everyone’s journey and ability is different, so know I’m just looking to understand your own experiences or best practices

I'll just offer a few thoughts now and then as I think of them. I used 2-2.5 quarts for decades until reading Zity and gradually working up to my usual now of 4 quarts with a one time maximum of 5.

BE SAFE AND SANE. If you're working up to higher and higher volumes, STOP if you start to have pain other than just a pressure feeling. Empty out and try that volume again more slowly the next time. If you keep getting pain at a certain volume, that may be your absolute max, and don't exceed or push beyond it.

It took a couple of weeks to a month to work up to 4 quarts gradually, maybe an extra pint at a time.

I didn't need to, but a lot of people like to empty out solids with a couple of 2-3 quart flushes before trying for higher volumes like 4 or 5 quarts.

Use a lot of different positions as you fill farther and farther, usually left down then on your back, then right down, as the water moves into your deeper colon. Use massage also to help the water move deeper. I always use a double balloon catheter, both inflated for these large 3-5 quart enemas. I have not been able to get a colon tube in deep enough, so I have no experience with one.

Use a combination of constant flow in from your bag plus a few intermittent pulses of faster water from an in-line Higginson bulb. It can speed up your fills and also feels good.

Work up to 4 quarts with a benign solution like water or saline or perhaps bicarbonate. Save the more irritating solutions like soap or glycerin until after you're comfortable holding 4 quarts.

After reaching 4 quarts, assuming you reached it without any pain, gradually learn to hold it for a few minutes more each time until you can hold as long as you want to. I can hold 4-5 quarts easily for an hour.

More thoughts later if they occur to me. Good luck with getting to four quarts.

WHY work up to larger and larger volumes?

All it does is stretch your colon which then requires more and more water to clean you out as well as less water did before you started to stretch it.

My guess is that "if x quarts feels good and erotic, then x+1 quarts will feel better and more erotic." This works for me but only up to a point, which for me is 4 - 5 quarts. But even I am curious about how the next quart will feel. I guess everyone has to test their own limits and sensitivity. Hopefully they'll be careful and safe about it.

What he said. Again, I’ve no interest in getting to 5 or 6 but curious whether I can get to 4 and what the experience would be.

Here are my experiences with high volumes. I have taken as much as 4 quarts on occasion. Only after a series of 2 quart fills and releases to clear my colon. I will refill my gallon bag adding sea salt and baking soda. I find changing positions and a gentle colon massage helps when trying for this large volume. I have not been able to retain this final fill for long and consider 4 quarts to be my current maximum.

When I was using 2-2.5 quarts for many years up to about 3-4 years ago, I thought it was quite a bit to hold, felt nice and sort of full, and that 4 was probably far more than I could manage. After reading Zity for a year or so, I gradually worked up to 4 quarts which I do often these days with no pain and great enjoyment. I did 5 one single time actually by accident, but it was fine. I occasionally think of doing 5 or a bit more again, but it's an interesting thought, not a priority. I'm very content doing 4. If you aim to work up to 4, just be safe about doing it. Getting hurt is not worth a modest thrill in your colon.

Generally speaking, with the exception of the first enemas I gave myself, I very quickly worked up to the 4-quart regimen with the 2-quart bag in the shower. After filling the bag initially (it took four 16-ounce aluminum cups to fill the bag), inserting the nozzle and then opening the clamp, I would continue to add warm water to the bag until I felt full and didn't think I could hold anymore. It was easy to hold three quarts and I reached 4 quarts in short order. It took a few more weeks to reach 5 quarts (10 of those aluminum cups) at which point I seemed to reach the limit of my adolescent colon. It took longer to be able to hold it for progressively longer times. The purpose in holding the enema for longer times was to masturbate and cum multiple times while holding the same enema. Remember, I didn't really know what I was doing and had no sense that other people would be doing the same sort of thing as I was simply because it felt so good.

It wasn't until later in my late teens and early 20's where I had some limited sense (due to experiences with a few friends) that I wasn't the only one. Without really thinking about it, I also discovered the difference between the open top and closed top bags in the convenience of being able to refill the open top bag much more easily. But I would still take two bags to give myself a 4-quart enema simply because of the way it felt. And my on and off relationship to enemas was pretty much limited to the closed top bags.

Fast forward to my more recent forays into enema experience and I am back where I started with open top bags. And large ones at that.

I disagree that it takes more and more larger volume enemas to be cleaned out because that isn't my experience at all. Want to know what really cleans me out? A quick succession of enemas that start at 2-liters and that range upward to about 2.5 liters. My Christmas enema decorations consisted of 5 red bags ranging up to 2.5 liters and then the sixth at 4.5 liters. No extended holding time while I took each one in succession. But by the time I got to the last bag, I was already "clear" and the larger fill of the final bag just made sure everything came flowing out. I was even cleaner when I racked all my bags and took them one by one. By the time I got to the largest bags, I was pretty much flushed out and running clear. The big bags just served as larger final rinses.

I have been able to hold 4-liters for more than an hour (including moderately soapy ones), but above that volume, the ability to hold it all in, even with an inflatable nozzle inversely proportional to some exponential of the enema volume. When my body is telling me that today is the day to stay in the 2 to 2.5 liter range, that's where I stay. Not every enema is a record setting one.

I do like the way the larger volume feels and always have since I started giving myself enemas. But it's not a race or competition and as I have told more than one person, live within your own personal safety limits.

Excellent points made by Enema Runner below. Good read and advice. I love 4-5 quarts, but not every day is a 4 quart day. Listen carefully to your colon.

Glad to help. Congratulations on your reaching 3.5 quarts. Every increment helps. I hope you're able to hold it for awhile and enjoy it. I have no real doubt that you can reach 4 quarts pretty quickly. I was somewhat surprised when I reached my own 4 the first time a few years ago, but now it's routine and very pleasant to fill and hold it for 1/2-1 hour or more or until it makes me so aroused that I end it early with an enema-induced orgasm. Just as a sort of unsolicited disclaimer and statement of truth, for shredder, the original OP, and LoveItKinky, who's been asking advice about reaching 4 quarts, and probably a few other skeptics, I'll just offer a few words.

Shredder was reading on Voy about large volume enemas up to say 6 quarts, stating he limits himself to about 3. He also said "My question is, how many enemaphiles really take these high volume enemas, if so do you hold them for long periods, say 20 - 60 minutes and are they painful?"

LoveItKinky says he usually takes 2.5-3 quarts and asks how to safely try to accomodate 4 quarts. Some of us have offered advice.

I'm 67 and have taken recreational/sexual enemas since age 15. That's when I discovered enemas as well as how to give myself an orgasm. Most of mine have been solo, but I've had a few ex-GFs and 2 ex-wives who gave them to me for awhile. I'm a switch, definitively heterosexual, with a strong bent for submission, especially when being given enemas. For decades I took and enjoyed 2-2.5 quarts, thinking it was fairly large and erotic. I joined Zity about four years ago and after reading a lot here decided larger enemas sounded fun so gradually worked up to 4 quarts a couple of years ago. This is my usual sexual enema now, and I took 5 quarts just one time as literally an accidental experiment. Both 4 and 5 quarts go in with no sign of pain from overdistention, just a lot of widespread internal pressure, which I like. I often hold 4 quarts for 30-60 minutes, sometimes longer, simply because it's enjoyable and erotic. I'm not in competition with anyone and never will be as far as any aspect of enemas goes. I've increased my usual capacity simply because I've always liked enemas and distention and enema-induced orgasms and I read here that many members took much larger enemas than I did, and it sounded fun. In fact, it really is fun.

Back when I was taking max 2.5 quarts, 4 quarts seemed excessive and unattainable and frankly a little crazy. Now that I've done 4 many times and 5 just once, 4 obviously feels comfortably large and easily achievable, as does 5. If I wanted to try 6 quarts, it may or may not be achievable but certainly seems at least possible. I've personally read members' posts here that claim to have taken 7, 8, and even 10 quarts of enema.

To answer shredder/OP's original question,

1) yes I take large enemas, so far up to 5 quarts. I'm toying with the idea of trying to do 6 but it may never happen.

2) I retain my 4 quart enemas usually 15-60 minutes simply to enjoy the sensations, the submissive feelings they cause, and the arousal they give me.

3) no, they are absolutely NOT painful, except for some occasional cramping.

I think the main point of this is believability of postings about enemas. I once thought that 4 quarts was beyond belief but now I'm a regular practitioner. And I took 5 once as well. So drawing the line about how much people have taken is difficult to know. You can come to my home and I could easily verify my claim by showing you the measured volumes and then running the 4-5 quarts into me. In other words, I'm telling the truth about my volume intake. Accepting the claims of other members that may seem excessive or not believable might have to come to that as well. Now having done 5 quarts myself, it's not too hard to imagine taking 6, but almost equally believable that I might run into sharp abdominal pain before I get there and quit at my maximum which might top out at 5.3 or 5.5 quarts. At this point I would be pretty skeptical about 8 and 10 quarts, but sometimes truth turns out to be stranger than fiction. I just hope we all play it safe and no one gets injured from this sort of entertainment. I'm satisfied enough with my own physical and psychological sensations from a 4-5 quart enema that I may never go any higher.

After a small series of preparatory enemas, I always attempt to take a large volume enema. Two, three quart bags with a "Y" connector, attached to a double-balloon inflatable nozzle, suspended from an IV stand.

I love the distension, and ohhhh the pressure.
