Just for a review from under from other topics: My temperature was taken rectally during my infant and toddler years. I was never touched by a nurse at all.
At the age of 3 and 4 when I was having a lot of ear infections and when my pants were down and over my mom's lap and when she inserted the rectal thermometer into my rear, it felt cold. My mom had already prepared it. I do have to say that when I had a fever and my temperature was going to be taken rectally, I thought it felt relaxing with the thermometer being cold at my toddler years. I can remember like yesterday, I was 3 or 4 and my mom felt my face thinking that I had a fever and laying over her lap and spreading my cheeks and inserts the cold thermometer into my rear every time and feeling it warm up to get the reading.
Members, when the rectal thermometer was being inserted either by a nurse or your mom/family members, did the thermometer feel cold to you? Please tell your story.
