I have very sensitive skin--it takes very little to irritate it, doesn't matter if it's my scalp itching or my diaper area or what. I can't lay in the grass without breaking out, and something ALWAYS itches, it seems.
So naturally this starts happening when I wear my diapers a lot in a short period of time. What's funny is, while I'm still wearing them--as long as I don't get diaper rash--it doesn't usually bother me. I'll go get myself off in my soaked / loaded diapers then take a shower then dry out really well, and THAT'S when I start itching down there. And I even get little welts around my waist and legs from the elastic in the plastic pants. I think that the elastic gets wet with pee and then--since it's elastic--it's held closer to my skin than everything else and that causes me to break out sometimes.
So I usually will do this for a couple of days (e.g. like right now! I slept in them Thursday night, wore a disposable to work on Friday, wore them Friday night and Saturday morning, wore a disposable Saturday afternoon, and now I'm back in them again and they're full and wonderful) then dry out for a while. But after reading all the posts from others about various creams that they use, I do think I'm going to try some of these and see if they help.
I do not think it's jock itch--at least not in my case. I've had jock itch before, usually in the summer. Something interesting that I found is, when I have jock itch, wearing soaking wet diapers for a while actually seems to HELP. Something in the pee or in the ammonia that starts to form after I've been in them for a while seems to act as an antidote for the jock itch!
