I've read quite a bit about enemas and find some conflicting data. I'd really appreciate if others would share their 'numbers.'
Enema bags are generally 2 quarts in capacity; buckets can go up to 4 quarts. I would assume that a 2-quart enema is typical for cleansing, but many people do more in their therapeutic or 'punishment' practices.
I read somewhere that an enema of less than 4 quarts is virtually ineffective, but don't really believe this. The same source described 7-quart enemas as commonplace.
My jug holds 4 quarts, which is about the most I can take and hold for any length of time, although I'm an average-size male in good health. I did 5 quarts once, but it was very painful. Only this morning I gave myself a 4-quart coffee enema, holding it for half an hour, but even 4 quarts was quite uncomfortable and brought on a succession of short-term, severe cramps toward the end.
My question is: What is the typical volume that most of you enema afficianados give yourselves on a regular basis? It seems that there is a maximum capacity that a person can handle, and also a lesser volume that is generally comfortable to hold for a reasonable time period. Taking pain and punishment out of the equation for now (although a gigantic enema can certainly get the subject's attention!), let's have a range and maybe some clarification if your figure is very low or very high.
Many thanks; I look forward to reading this!
