The equipment itself should never cause injury!
ABSOLUTELY NEVER!!
Overdoing it with the enema, trying to take way too much, ting to put some substance in that's toxic can be deadly!
Wine enemas for example have more than once earned well-deserved Darwin Awards.
The simple presence of the Darwin Awards has woken man people up!
No telling what went on before that!
Same really for douching!!
I have seen the magazine ads from the early 1960 and before about Lysol douches, but the reality for better or worse is that the Lysol douche was the fist step in a home abortion!!
Prior to the mid-1960s there was no readily available treatment for yeast infections. NONE!
IODINE DOUCHES Barbaric as the seem today were the ONLY thing available!
From the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s what was available on prescription only! This meant that women ha to use iodine douches up to the mid 1960s and the synthetic form called Povodine right up until Miconozol Nitrate came off prescription in the mid 1980s. Betadine was the ONLY option to missing a whole day's work/school an shell out for a doctor's office appointment in the a when health insurance was the exception, not the rule!
There were other factors coming into play as well, but all around, pre-liberation womanhood did not provide things we take for granted today
