Position to give birth

I’ve never been pregnant so I’ve never experienced childbirth, but in my mind I think I would be in lithotomy position with legs spread wide in order to show my vagina to my midwife or obgyn, feeling exposed and ready to push hard. But I was wondering if there are better positions to give birth, position which help more to spread vagina and help the baby to go out. What do you think?

. . . . @sofia6969 I don't think there's a specific position to spread the labia further, but gynecologists sometimes cut the labia and then stitch them back up after the baby is born. They call that an episiotomy.
