Not to hijack Alex's thread, but OK, so color me rather confused about flora and fauna.

The "bugs" (thanks Susie) that live in our intestines are bacteria. It's been a long time since college biology, but I still remember the taxonomy: Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. (the prof taught us a memonic: Keep Plates Clean Or Family Gets Sick). I was taught that Bacteria are in the ANIMAL kingdom. They are not plants. So why are they considered flora when they reside in our guts?

I normally do just two quarts at a time when doing the enema an hour thing. Once my colon is empty I can expel 2Q in just five or so minutes on the biffy. M&Ms create gas in the colon, and gas is a huge deterrent to both taking water in and letting it out. Please try plain water and see if it goes better.

Bacteria are NOT in the animal kingdom. They are bacteria.

The Kingdoms are: animals, plants, protists, fungi and bacteria.

Paramecia which are single celled, have a nucleus and "swim" are not animals either. They are protists.

Mushrooms are fungi.

Flora does not refer to a plant when referring to bacteria.

I'm glad we got that cleared up. I really don't want coyotes, wolves or deer running around in my intestines. They might be kicking and screaming if they cam flushing out along with the enema solution.

Demonstrating once again that what leads us astray is often not what we don't know, it's what we know that ain't so. I wonder how much else I was taught in school just ain't so.

These critters see your blod as nutrient rich sea water, and can proliferate rapidly. The resulting infection can be very hard to fight, as things which kill them can make you sick, or kill you, as well. I agree 100% that the time-honored M & M should NOT be used in a series! Reserve the M & M for punishment...it IS!

Protozoa are Protists. You can look it up.

Epic thread derailment is epic. thanks, azdiane for your response, next time i do the enema an hour thing i will keep it plain, simple and at 2 quarts. no reason not to trust your experience.

So now, Alex, enquiring minds want to know.... When will be your next enjoyment of an enema an hour?
