Supervised urine sample

I was just curious to see if anyone has ever had the experience of a supervised urine sample. Two years ago as part of a job physical, I had to give a urine sample in front of a male doctor (not my regular family doctor). I had never had this experience before and wondered if anyone else had to provide a supervised urine sample.

Mee too, a male doctor. I have a problem going with anyone watching.

They do that when they are testing for drugs and want to make sure it is YOUR urine they are testing.

Jobs that have a higher security rating are more likely to have this done.

Yes, I have had that experience. The first time was over 25 years ago when I applied for term life insurance. The nurse was about 23 or 24, very cute and she giggled when she told me she had to watch me pee, in fact showed me where it was printed on the exam form that she had to, and giggled again as I did it. No kidding. It was very embarrassing but I think I managed to conceal it. She really liked the show, no doubt about that. This was back at a time when insurance companies in the US were just beginning to use nurses rather than doctors to offset costs. After getting the urine sample this nurse proceeded to give me the entire exam, hernia, testicles, STD and all, including several measurements of my body with a cloth tape measure -- chest, waist, hips, thighs (NOT my penis) -- as I was standing there nude. She smiled and all but giggled through the entire thing, really and openly enjoying what she was doing and taking no steps whatsoever to limit my embarrassment. When the exam was over she left the room. By this time I had been standing completely nude in front of her for over 15 minutes. She told me to get dressed. A few minutes later I walked out and she was at the reception desk chatting and laughing with the receptionist. I got on the elevator, and she said goodnight (I was the last exam of the evening) and both women waved and giggled as the doors closed.

My UA's have always been supervised due to the nature of the job. Male attendant only though 😢

I have not had the experience, but have heard that it is common during some drug testing, particularly in the military. They have a slang term for the attendant: Meatgazer 😁

I had a similar experience. When I was 18 I got hired for a new job and as part of the employment testing, the nurse handed me the cup and stood there and watched me pee.

During my UA's they have taped the toilet shut and put some dye in the water to make sure its mine.

My experience is similar to Hamelfire's...also had to turn my pockets inside out, but I was allowed to go into the bathroom to give my sample.

As a truckdriver i am object to random testing for drugs most time they just seal the water off at the sink and dye the toilet water so u can flush before they test u i have to turn my pocket inside out and after the test they check the temp off the sample that will tell them if u cheat.

I've no problem whatsoever with being supervised in providing a specimen. Most posters in this thread accept that it's to prevent cheating where the outcome of the test is important in the context of the reason for the exam.

Living here in the UK though we have more than enough 'supervised' or at least, 'watched over' urination by beer louts, male and female, yes, female too, peeing in the street after leaving clubs because they can't be bothered to do so before exiting premises.

I've written to the local press to demand that the penalty for such behaviour in public should be an indwelling Foley, sealed for at least 12 hours!

I had to give supervised urine samples as part of random drug testing while in the Air Force. It always involved a male attendant, and really wasn't a big deal except that usually had a hard time starting the flow when I was being watched.

I had to go in front of a female nurse as part of a preemployment drug screen.

I never have had to do this, but I don't know if I could go if a stranger was watching me. It sounds hot, though, for medical play!!! 😉

We are randomly drug tested at work. We are given like a two hour notice before the drug test. I had to go into a bath room, and the nurse put a coloured dye in the the commode. I was given two urine sample containers, and the nurse stood outside the stall door while I urinated. The nurse checked the commode after I urinated, and I gave her the two urine samples. At least I did not have to urinate in front of her.

I would have a hard time doing it in fron of an observer. I prefer privacy when peeing.

I know some transportation take their drivers from the scene of the accident to a clinic where the driver has to produce urine samples under the supervision of a medical personnel. The driver is only accorded the privacy of a curtain that pulls up to about 48 inches above the ground. After the sample is produced the temperature of the urine is also taken immediately to confirm that there was no swap.

I have only been watched one time. This was done after I had a dye injected into my lymph system and the doctor needed to make sure that the dye was fully through my body and coming out in my urine before they could do a full body scan.

I really had to go, so I don't think that I would have had any problems if they they had made me do it in the procedure room that was full of people.

Many years ago for an insurance medical in London the doctor just gave me a cup and asked me to pee there and then in his room. I was suspicious. A female friend was in the recovery room after an operation and the nurse told her to pee in the bedpan before she would be allowed back to the ward. She said she could not do it in front of her -I believe it is common for women not to be able to use bed pans for several days in hospital anyway. They call it stage fright. Anyway the nurse got impatient so just went off and came back with a catheter which she inserted. She said that was bad enough but there was a man in the next bed in the room with only a partial curtain between them. She could see his face and he could hear the whole event.

Ps I saw on american teleevision some years ago an advert for 'Purine' sold in discreet jars for when you have to give a sample unsupervised - guaranteed pure. It is when they call a man up and tell him he is pregnant !!

I have had to do it several times in front of nurses. Once I had an insurance exam and it said right on the form that the examiner had to witness the urine production. That time the nurse doing the exam was very cute, I was in my late 20s, and afraid of getting an erection. I was standing there in front of her wearing just an undershirt, everything else was off, and that was about to come off...and...I couldn't pee. We were standing in a little toilet room off the exam room, she was staring intently at my penis, I was trying to pee and NOT get an erection. So she turned on the faucet of the sink, and we waited. After a full minute or two I was able to pee. She watched the entire thing. After that she went on with the exam and, you guessed it, I got an erection. And kept it for the rest of the exam. To my surprise she was not in the least displeased that I did, in fact I think she liked it. Really. This is a true story by the way, not some sort of fantasy. It was the first of what turned out to be many exams and procedures with female doctors and nurses during which I got an erection, and came to realize they actually seemed to like or even prefer my doing so. I mean it was not that I was a threat to them at all, or acted menacingly, or came on to them. Just the opposite really. And back then, I was very shy about it and having an erection like that was embarrassing. (I probably act similarly even today, because it is an odd situation. I have had a few nurses or doctors put me at my ease when it happens, saying it is natural, etc.) But having to pee in front of that nurse the first time was, oddly, even more embarrassing for me then. Go figure. Best I can come up with is this: I have had erections with various women during my life that I was about to have sex with. Hundreds of times. So in that sense it is "natural" to have an erection in front of a woman. But I do not pee in front of them, except during urine collections such as described here. By the way, this may, or may not, also explain why it seems that so many medical women seem not in the least offended by seeing a male patient with an erection. Or even prefer it. It is because in their private lives if they see adult males nude at all it will likely be with an erection, because they are about to have sex with that man. So, by the same token, it is "natural" for them.

I would love to have this happen to one day...BUT nurses in my country are mostly old folks... bleh.

Supervised urine samples for elite athletes are routine, but I'm told that they never get used to peeing in front of a witness

How do they ensure that you didn't take a sample with you? If you are wearing any clothing at all, you could have concealed it. Or did you go to the restroom nude?

They can say strip down to your underwear....

Then they give you the specimen cup.

This happened to me quite a few years ago. As you I was going for a pre employment physical. The nurse who was probably in her late 20's told me she needed a sample and had to observe it. I was already in my underwear so when she handed the cup to me I just dropped them and it seemed like hours before I finally managed to get some out of me.I handed the sample to her and she covered and labeled it while I was standing there with my underwear around my ankles.She then said that since I already had my underwear down we should do the weight , height, hernia check etc right now. She completed the exam and left the room. I always thought that a physical had to be done by a doctor but she appeared to be a nurse?

Mike, I have been getting physical exams from nurses, and nurse practitioners, for over 30 years now. It was introduced as a cost saving measure, at least by 1975.

5.9.1 The Witness (DCO or Chaperone) shall escort the Athlete to the toilet facility. The Athlete will carry his/her own sample collection vessel.

5.9.2 The Witness shall be of the same gender as the Athlete providing the sample.

5.9.3 The Athlete shall be encouraged to wash his/her hands before providing a sample.

5.9.4 Once in the toilet facility the Athlete must remove all clothing between the waist and mid-thigh, in order that the Witness has an unobstructed view of sample provision. Sleeves should be rolled up so that the Athlete’s arms and hands are also clearly visible.

5.9.5 The Witness shall directly observe the Athlete provide the urine sample, adjusting his/her position so as to have a clear view of the sample leaving the Athlete’s body.

5.9.6 The volume of urine collected should be that specified by the relevant laboratory.

I can imagine almost nothing more humiliating than being watched while providing a sample (there is one thing that's more embarrassing but it's almost in the same venue). Hmmm, play session coming up next week. I wonder... :-\
