People sometimes say that when a true sadist tortures a true masochist the torture can and does become a sex act in it's own right. That is to say, the masochist can experience a pain induced orgasm, and it will happen spontaneously even though that person's sex organs aren't being directly touched or stimulated in any manner (the pain alone is enough to bring on the climax).
