Anyone think about when their mom was pregnant with them or a sibling?

Anyone else think about when their mom was pregnant with them or a sibling?

Like many other topics here, not until now.

I’m glad it sparked something!

Mmm. My mother fell downstairs as a result of which I was born six weeks premature. Probably a big deal in 1958. I only grew to be 6'3" & always blamed her for my stunted growth.

Lol Alan....only 6' 3" A reall shorty!! But to the question, I never have thought about my mother being pregnant. I suppose that being the younger of two children, I would not be aware of her being pregnant, Denist

I was interested whenever pregnancy was talked about in the family growing up. It was usually what cravings she'd had and nothing more detailed, but it did spark my imagination when I was younger.

I have a friend who was present at the birth of her little brother. She was 11 at the time and had been thoroughly briefed beforehand about what to expect and told it was her own choice if she wanted to be there, but she admits she was still shocked when watching it happen! It didn't put her off though. She has 3 children of her own now lol

There was a gap of 4 and 6 years between myself and my two younger sisters. The timeframe allowed for my older sister and I to learn about the birds and bees as our own development progressed. In a different topic/thread concerning enemas etc., my older sister and I were pretty inquisitive about things as we observed the entire process of childbirth and healthcare of our younger sisters. Mom and grandma gave us a pretty good concept of the use of enemas and suppositories for our siblings, but also mom's use of enemas and douching.

I answered the question of seeing my sister(s) getting enemas and suppositories, as well as diaper changes. In fact, we kids were taught how to change a diaper and the use of the diaper pail. Observing the various treatments and procedures was quite enlightening, especially in our small 2 bdrm apt. with a single bath. Grandma did live next door, so she was often providing childcare and baby sitting duties. When we were shooed outside and the door locked when dad was home from an extended travel/road trip, we realized in time that mom and dad were catching up. The pregnancies that followed were a confirmation as to what they had been up to.

It was still a crap shoot as to whether mom or dad had an enema or mom had douched. My older sister and I tried hard to figure it out.

I was three when my youngest sister was born, but I don't remember my mother being pregnant. Some things just don't register at that age for some of us I guess.

I was 5 when my brother was born and unfortunately I don’t have much recollection of that time period.

My sister’s been pregnant 4 times and I’ve always thought about that lol. I’m the youngest child though so I was never around for my mom to be pregnant. I was able to go to one of my sisters pregnancy exams because it was summer time I was out of school and mom was going with her since it was the first exam and at the time my dad worked nights. I can’t remember how old I was but I know I enjoyed what I saw haha.

Yes there’s definitely something about those exams!

@AutoMechanic It must have been quite the experience for you to witness her pregnancy exam. How thoroughly did the doctor examine her? Were you able to watch? Did she know that you were watching? If so, how did she react?

We were both premature / emergency c-sections. I wish she got to experience two full term pregnancies and vaginal births.

My mother died when I was barely a year old and had disowned her parents at 18 because of her sexuality so I had never seen pics of my mom pregnant until the other day on her deathiversary and her gf my gf's sister showed me videos her gf cried the entire day, i had been told my mom hated herself for ruining her life for her sexuality and for getting preg at 19. but no my mom was happy She was beautiful, kept talking about wanting 20 kids.

on a different note my godmother is pregnant for the first time at 46 and she just cursed my gay godfather out in Spanishfor asking her to marry him, "honey you ain't protecting my honor i'm a dang near 50 yearold woman." He tried to marry my mom too but decided her parents would be more receptive to "got knockedup at woodstock 99" than the gay kid that slept on my floor after his dad tried to kill him, knocked me up

I’m glad you got to see the picture of your mother when pregnant. How is your godmother doing with her pregnancy?

I do remember when my mom was pregnant with my youngest sister. I am the oldest and she is 6 years younger than me. My mom wore this blue (she called it a MU-MU) flower nighty all the time at home. Not sure she wore anything under that, when she was wearing it. When shopping she always had her purse and a diaper bag. I did not day potty train until i was 6, and both my sister and i were in the nursery until i was 9 when i stopped wetting the bed.
