Testicular exam

Guys, how thorough was the doctor when providing your testicular exam? Were they rough or gentle?

Most of my doctors have been more gentle than rough. One doctor was rough and thorough which added to the intrigue of how my next physical would go.....

Always have been gentle and usually they are very quick too.

As a child when i was having my regular exams for my early puberty, my gp was very thorough with my testicular exams; seeming to take forever performing them. I wouldn't describe them as generally rough, but but they weren't always particularly gentle either.

My first real exam as an adult male was at age 40. I had/have doctor avoidance issues in the real situation. He was very thorough and explained everything as he moved along. When we got to it he just said to drop my shorts, and shut off the lights except for his flashlight while he transluminated my nuts, something I had never had or heard about. It was pretty cool. I didn't expect when lights came back on he'd REALLY examine my dick, but felt around, then spread open the meatus to check the slit. No probe however. In a play exam guess I'd like that....So, not rough, not really gentle, just matter of fact but with explanation of what was going on. Best exam I ever had. None equal in scope since.

As far back as I can recall, no real life doctor I have ever had has done any sort of testicular exam on me. All that they have ever done was the hernia check, even when I was in that most at risk group for getting testicular cancer. I really had to find out about any sort of testicular health on my own from whatever source I could find. That really does not say much for the competency or the genuine care or concern of many US doctors, other than that they are more concerned about making money than for their patients' health.

Luckily for me, since I have been involved in med fet play exams for my entire adult life, I had play docs who seemed more knowledgeable and more caring about patient health than my real life doctors! It was through my play docs that I learned about testicular health and testicular self checks and not from my real life doctors. So when I started being a play doc myself, it really became like a mission for me to make sure my male patients understood the importance of testicular health and self checks in case their real life doctors never conveyed the importance of testicular health to them.

My doctor always does a thorough examination of my testicles. He is always very gentle about it.

Always gentle, when I was a teen and was stripped down to my briefs the doctor could tell how nervous I was and gently pulled down my briefs while I was flat on the exam table. My head shot up just because I realized my mom was looking over over the doctor's shoulder giving me a strangely reassuring smile as she lifted my testicles. Later on when I got a male doctor he examined me naked and he was also very gentle. Getting rough is something a playdoc might do but I cant imagine a doctor doing that for real.

I have had many testicular exams since they were more common as a child and young adult from 60s to 80s and usually they are fairly thorough although gentle. There was one nurse that got rough when I was in college and I thought she was on the older side so I made the mistake of asking when she was going to retire? She said something like young man I am not retiring until I am ready to retire now take off your underwear. She was kind of angry after that and was rough with everything including my foreskin. She held my testicles tightly for a minute as she examined them too and didn’t say anything.

The most complete and lengthy testicular exams I had the pleasure to enjoy were conducted conducted by female PAs at one of our national defense laboratories.

The lab had extensive work with radioactive materials and each and every employee, from Director to janitor, male or female, was required to have a physical exam once a year. The genital part was most intensive and complete and the PA conducting the exam were experienced and not shy. The only complaints I here were from nerdy scientists who shy but also thankful the ladies had relatively short fingers

Usually the extent of any examination going on down there was the check for hernia. I had been accustomed to standing for them, but this doctor would lift my briefs while I'd be lying on the exam table. For the first few years I worked in my job and he was the plant physician, that's all it would be.

One year, and i can't remember if it was the year they had me watch a video on testicular cancer and checking, but I was laying on the exam table. he had just checked me for hernia, and right before he restored my briefs, I felt his ungloved fingers making a gentle sweep over my scrotum, making contact with my balls, but not really squeezing.

The next year he gave each one a gentle squeeze after the hernia check. Never announcing what he was doing. He would make small talk amidst telling me to take a deep breath or something. So each time he touched me with his ungloved hand, it came as a surprise, just simply because I wasn't used to a doctor touching me there or feeling them that way, and I wasn't expecting it.

Only one or 2 other doctors gave them to me. i used to alternate telling one doc that my masseuses usually take care of that (waiving the offer), and other times accept the offer, saying I need a professional opinion once in a while.

Like i could use right now. No doctor is touching my balls these days. Damn lawsuits and insurance companies.

To answer the question, I'd say they tried to be as gentle as they could be, yet having to apply a little pressure.

My earliest memory of a testicular exam was when i went for final medical before leaving school We had to go to the medical room in just pe kit for easy access to save time. He did the usual test then notices from my notes i had had a appendix operation so he said he would check the scar, This involved him in pulling down my shorts and asking me to lie on the couch. He felt everywhere including a gentle prolonged examination of my bits with cold hands. Of course an erection and explosion resulted. I still am turned on by cold hands on testicle to this day!

When younger the Doctor just lifted my balls and asked me to cough.

As I got older he spent some time feeling around each ball in turn. Often this was done whilst I was laying on the examination couch.

His touch was gentle but thorough.

The first person to examine my testicles was a female pediatrician. Between the ages of 10 and 15, I was examined once a year. It was a full examination in the presence of my mother. At the end of the examination, my mother always "reminded" the doctor to examine my genitals. My underwear were lowered and my intimate place was examined. The pediatrician examined my testicles, doing it relatively briefly and gently.

The next examination took place during the military examination. I went behind the screen in my underwear. A woman doctor was waiting there. She told me to take off my underwear. During this time, she put on rubber gloves. She examined me standing up. She felt my scrotum very carefully. At first she did it gently, then harder, almost to the point of pain. But the pain wasn't much.

I had mainly testicular examinations in recent years by urologists, sometimes with ultrasounds. It was always gentle.

In childhood, doctors visually checked if my testicles had descended during school medical exams, but I only remember one examination at 10 years old, where the doctor palpated the penis and testicles for a long time, while I was lying on my back with my white briefs pulled down.

All of my testicular exams have been very thorough, but not rough or painful. I could feel the pressure of the doctor's fingers on my testicles. It was definitely a firm grip, but not to the extent of causing pain or discomfort. It always seemed to take forever and was part of the genital exam and hernia check portion of the exam. This meant that I was completely naked, either laying down or standing up, sometimes both.

I remember them being more thorough as a teenager and in college.

In adulthood, it was usually a hernia check and a quick feel of penis and testicles at the general practitioners.

Urologist visits they have been thorough in checking in the testicles, but not really as concerned about hernias.

I had a female Navy doc do an exam one time - I was having recurrent tenderness in one testicle that was impacting my ability to run, hike, etc.

She was far from gentle (probably wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't having that tenderness). Anyway, after making me wince several times she sort of apologized (but not really) saying something about "sorry if I manhandled you there." (I don't think she was sorry one bit)

I remember thinking that if a man had handled me like that I'd have punched him in the face.

Mine were always very gentle. I often fantasize about one getting rough, but I wouldn’t want that in a real exam setting

Mine are always very prolonged and extensive and always need to be in stirrups for it.

They were more thurough during puberty & late teen years, probably because the doc (s). needed to see & chart my development.

I am now over 50 but I have never had my testicles examined.

I remember from my school days as a small child that we had to pull down our panties during the medical examination.

The doctor or nurse took a quick look but that was it.

I had a prostate exam once but no doctor ever touched my testicles.

I wonder if I'm an exception then. But I don't think so.

I've had a couple different doctors that I remember, all male, and I'd say all have been rather gentle. My current doctor, whom I've had for a few years, is typically rather thorough and gentle, yet firm. He typically gives a detailed inspection of my testicles while explaining what is going on. If I have any questions, he'll be further detailed. A few times he has given my penis a thorough inspection, palpating the length and examining the glans. I've never had him examine my penis the times I had an erection, though I wish he would.

My urologist checked my testicles at my initial appointment. He was very gentle. Next year I will have a female urologist. Hoping she checks my penis and testicles since I recently had a cystoscopy and an ultrasound

My testicle exams are always throuough and gentle.

Weird time with a female PA at an Urgent Care visit"checking my testicles". Last year I was up in the Western Rocky Mountains and got dehydrated.. dehydrated enough so my body started rebelling, no urine, no stool. Went to an Urgent Care and was put on an intervenous drip. As the dip progressed and I started feeling better after 30 minutes, the PA told me she wanted to check my progress and did some simple checks of skin, heart, etc and then told me she was going to remove my pants to check my man-parts. She began by squeezing my balls but found I could not become erect. Twenty minutes later a second check and she proudly announced my system was beginning to work properly. Ninety minutes lying on the table with IV drip and I was able to pee and poop. One final checkup as she completed the exam, smiled and releasedme. As I said, weird experience!

Well, that would teach me to be better hydrated next time! Guess I would personally not been so stressed out if it had been a male practitioner. Just not comfortable with females and my junk.

The pediatrician was always thorough and gentle. Then I had a gap of about a decade between my last pediatrician visit at 16 and the next doctor who did a testicular exam when I was 26. He also was thorough and gentle. I've not had any testicular exams since.

All of my exams were done thoroughly and gently, which I absolutely loved. The first couple I ever received were the longest ones, lasting a few minutes each. In successive years they gradually got somewhat shorter. My most recent was relatively quick, but was still done with plenty of consideration.

Both my current and former doctors (both female) have been gentle and quite thorough when conducting genital exams on me. If they were rough on me I would find a new doctor because A: They just don't care or are insensitive to the fact that it can be painful if not handled properly. B They slept through genital exams classes in medical school
