Just putting my thoughts in writing here. This post started as an answer to a question posted elsewhere about the thoroughness of real medical exams (not play ones). But it got pretty long, and I didn't want to hijack the thread. I'm really curious what others think about this. I think some may disagree or feel my take is sort of twisted. I don't know...
So it seems to be a general consensus that real exams are not as comprehensive as they once were. Many people have mentioned how their exams used to be much more thorough. Certain things (things that undoubtedly caused some of our fetishes here) are not recommended as young, or as often, or even at all, anymore. Now there's a combination of no time allotted for thoroughness at most corporate or state-sponsored clinics, as well as fear of lawsuits and accusations, the me-too movement, etc.
I'm of mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, consent and trust are important in both sexual and medical situations. Obviously people don't want to be raped at the doctor's office. On the other hand, if I've gone to the office, taken off my clothes, willingly laid down on the table with my legs spread, I think the consent to be thoroughly examined is inherent at that point. Now that's talking from a purely medical standpoint - I'm paying for a service and I'd like to know it has been done right with nothing left undone. But from a medfet standpoint - I may or may not be embarrassed or thrilled with it at the time, but I know it has the potential to fuel later fantasies, and of course there's always that little voice in my head going, "please just go a little further", even though that doesn't happen, and I'd be surprised if it did.
Most of us are on this forum because at some point in our lives we've had a medical experience (or more) that have caused us to fantasize in a sexual way. I, personally don't regard that as a bad thing; I enjoy it! I'm no psychologist, but I don't see the problem with sexual fantasies and fetishes - at least not the ones that are used for one's own enjoyment, and not to the detriment of others. If those experiences hadn't happened (even if they were meant to be perfectly professional and innocent), we wouldn't have the fantasies and fetishes we have.
It would be a shame to deprive future people of the pleasure we take in it, because society has become so fear-laden and rushed. Yet, that is what seems to be happening. I suppose it will simply make way for other fantasies and fetishes in the future though.
Anyway, be interested in your take...
