Catholic diaperings

I just read an artical on Catholic girls. The artical stated that while attending Christinings a Catholic girl is supposed to be in diapers and diapercover, under a white dressing gown to symbolize purity. Is that a real ritual and can anybody verify the practice?

When older girls get christned or baptized it is custom to wear a diaper underneth the dress. its weird and old schoolbut its tradition and who are we to say its dumb ? who cares i never had to but i was a boy but many of my cousins did and had to and my nices also . so yes its real!!

I remember my First Communion (I was about 7) and still in diapers (incon from spina bifida). Right before the mass, a sister took me and all the girls to a room where all of us were checked. So... yeah... it was true at my parish. I remember how shocked I was, I wasn't exactly the most popular kid around (believe me when I say being 7 and still wearing really sucks) at seeing other kids my age wearing diapers.

I know its embaressing mo but its something god gave you to deal with and he never gives us something we cannot deal with in life. everything i have ever been trough suked bad but i learnd from each and every one of them , he made sure i did and apreciated it at the end of it!!!

This is really shocking to me . I dated a catholic girl for 4 years and Even told her I love to wear and wet diapers. One night she said she wanted to diaper me and play mommy to see if ir were some thing she would like . To that it wasn't a turn on for her , we never did it again. Back to the girls, I would assume she was diapered in the same tradition but she never told me of it never even hinted of it. Is the diapering kept secret from non-catholics especially non-cath. boys ? I wounder why she wouldn't fill me in on this after I let her in on my little secret about diapers.

Maybe it depends on the curch also. many churches follow a diffrent path . the one i went to did but then i heard of churches who didint so maybe yours or hers was one thta didnt. either way im diapered now and thats all that matters LOL

Yeah it's true, my friend did this when we were 11-12. We wore cute diapers but they weren't really diapers that seemed like they could hold a big wetting. Guess that wasn't really the main purpose though. 😜

If i recall correctly it is abot being pure and somehting else .no they are not diapers as in bambinos diapers they ar emore like a cloth diaper thats very thin. i think its more like a thick panty then a diaper but what do i know i wasnt made to wear them just the girls LOL

[/quote]Yep we wore cloth diapers with white plastic covers over them. I wouldn't say the cloth was quite like panties because we still had to pin them on like normal diapers but they were definitely a lot thinner. So it was definitely discreet and not really in the way at all. After a while I forgot I was wearing it.

Well I think when I did mine most of the boys didn't know that the girls were diapered but I don't think it was really a big secret either.

I did have a friend though who went to a different church then me and she just wore panties under her dress (unless she was lying 😜) so some churches probably don't enforce the diaper rule.

I'm pretty sure my family's catholic church doesn't do this. I had never heard about it before. But I've heard too many posts online (here and elsewhere) to think this doesn't exist ever. Some poster consistantly identifying herself as Amanda has posted about doing this numerous places online. This gives me so many questions.

Was this just for first communion or other occasions? Did any of the parents or girls protest? Was anyone embarressed or made fun of? Were any of the boys jealous?

Who supplied the diapers, the church or did the parents have to buy them? Was the church secretive about this? Like did they say don't tell others or is it assumed to be something you just don't talk about?

Anyone know how common this is?

- Yes, some girls were embarrassed but it wasn't really that big of a deal since no one had to see them except their parents.

- When I did it none of the boys knew.

- People had to buy their own diapers

My parish never did this. I have never heard of it before. While I do believe you all are telling the truth, it sure seems far fetched.

Back in the 50's when I was around 4 or 5 and I was in kindergarden(they had no daycare back then) I was put into cloth diapers and plastic panties for a week by nuns because I had peed and pooped in my pants and wet my cot at nap time before they realized that I was loving the attention and the diapers and lovely plastic panties.

It depends on ur rite and church..

??? I don't know if it is true or not. I've never heard of it but that doesn't mean some parishes didn't do it. I know my two girls didn't have diapers on for thier first communion but when they were baptized they did but they were infants at the time. Is this maybe a tradition for older girls being baptized. Most Catholic, girls and boys are baptized when they are infants. If they are baptized later on maybe that's why the diaper. Maybe I should ask my sisters, my wife would have told me if she was made to wear a diaper for her first communion. She went to Catholic school.

EMMM..! I too have seen many posts about this subject on various internet sites, but, if it is so, then why is the requirment only made in the case of girls, or that is, as it seems to be, personally, If this practice is common place in some parishes, I can only think that the preist has his own little quirks, and that this his way of doing so, by knowing all the while that these girls who are making the transition from child to teen, are actually wearing nappies/diapers under their outfits, for those that do not doubt that this practice takes place, then please do forgive me here, but, we are all entitled to our own opinions, and this is just that, my own opinion, that said I am always open minded, and willing to stand corrected.

As I posted earlier,I was made to wear thick bulky cloth diapers and yellow or pink plastic panties by nuns in kindergarten because I would,most of the time pee and poop my pants and wet my cot at nap times,but I both craved and loved the attention I got both from the other kids,espeially the girls and the nuns up until I started school. My parents, on the other hand,again especially my dear old mom, would beat me with a belt and either force the plastic panties on me,if and when she found my stash hidden under my mattress or my pillow, and pull on the lag bands until the elastic snapped and ripped them off or she would just take each pair and with a cruel grin rip them in half before me saying that she thought that both me and the plastic pants were disgusting. I only have one sister and she is 8 years younger than me so I don't remember her making her first commubnion wearing bulky cloth diaper and plastic panties,especially if my parents had any say in the matter,as I'm sure that they didn't want my sister turning into a degenerate big sissy baby and plastic pants lover like her older brother.

Like I say, I do find this whole idea a little incredable, I was forced as a child, to wear diapers/nappies for a bed wetting problem that reared it's self after my mother left our stable family home in favour of a calous sadistic younger man, I won't go into detail again here as I have already posted about my childhood experiencies on another thread, but the point that I am trying to make, is this, I know how horrible I felt at nine years old, and having to go through the experience of being ridiculed and shamed by being foced into wearing nappies/diapers at that age, and I just cannot grasp the possibility that any self respecting parent, would force a young girl, making her transition from baby to teen,in front of a full church of fellow parents and kids alike, to wear thick diapers under her outfit, on what, for many catholic girls of this age, is meant to be the most memorable and happy day of her young life.

Likewise we never hear about this practice (If it does go on) being required of young boys going through the same, I am not Catholic my self, but until I,m proved wrong, I will always be doubtful,of the existance of such practices.

We as ABDL,s retain the right to make our own choices, as to what we as adults choose to wear and how we spend our free time, but as kids we rely on guidence and love from parents. As a fantasy this scenario is fine, as no one gets hurt, but I belive that forcing a child against their will to wear diapers/nappies, and to generally humiliate them in real life is paramount to emotional abuse.

Again these are my personal views, and I am always open to other peoples opinions.

I think that all the first communion diaper stories are fantasies. I have a hard time believing any are true.

I never heard of this being done anywhere but on the internet. I wouldn't say it never happened to anyone. But I think it would be more like how bad parents force bed wetters to wear diapers as a punishment. It may have happened to an isolated few, by strange parents.

But as an organized requirement? There are to many questions on how it would come to be, like the logistics of the whole thing. Who would want to do this? Where would the diapers come from, ones that would fit 8 year olds? How do you get an 8 year old to wear a diaper? How do you handle toileting? Do you make an 8 year old (who never has) wet a diaper? Or, do you have to take it off and re diaper? It can go on and on... I realize, someone would argue how it would work, for all those questions. But why would anyone go to the trouble to do this kinda thing? I think it's hard enough getting a dress, rehearsing, planing a party, and whatever else for such an event.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong? But not in the catholic world I grew up in.
