Guys: WHERE was your first rectal exam?

Quite awhile back, one of the members from the NE U.S. added a topic about where our first Gynecological exam was. As he said, we know WHEN, but where?

I'd like to turn the tables, so to speak, and ask our guys. Where was your first FULL male. I.e., your first rectal. Was it at your primary care? The Emergency Department? Where? And, I might add a second question. Was it expected?

At a Doctor's office

In a doctor's office exam room for an FAA medical certificate. I was 16. I was sitting on the end of the exam table wearing just my underpants when he had me stand on the floor for the genital exam. He asked me to take down my shorts and then said that I might as well take them all the way off He did the hernia check, which I expected and then I saw him putting on a glove and putting some lube on his finger. He told me to turn and face the wall, put my hands on my knees and push down hard like I was going to have a bowel movement and put his finger up my butt. I didn't expect that.

At med.dept on-site for employer.

Similar to the student pilot I was younger, at the old Wear Paces Ferry Hospital in Atlanta.

I was in for a mandatory grad school exam.

Grab your knees after the hernia exam and then a cold sensation.

Definitely wasn't expecting!

At the doctors office for my college entrance physical. It was completely unexpected.

I don't remember the exact age but I was in my early twenties. I was concerned about hemorrhoids so made an appointment to see a proctologist. After an initial conversation, he instructed me to go behind a partition by myself, take off pants and underwear and put on a gown. Then he came into the room and told me lie on my back on the exam table, then lie on my side and bring one leg to my chest for the rectal exam. That was my first time and I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all and it was quick. So it was at the doctor's office and it was certainly expected since I made the specific appointment. I've had many rectal exams since then but you always remember your first time!

Mine occurred when i went for my yearly physical. My primary doctor who i had been seeing each year for the past 3 or 4 years made note i had turned 40. After he completed the hernia / genital exam he instructed me to stay standing and turn and lean over the exam table. This was not expected.

First, I don't think that a gynecological examination and the prostrate exam can be compared. The female exam is much more invasive, more humiliating and girls are expected to have it regularly starting with their puberty.

That being said, my first rectal exam was while I was hospitalized at 17 for suspected appendicitis. I guess that they just use every orifice that might be available for a more "exact" exam. I have heard later that females also get a vaginal exam in that situation to rule out that people are dealing with a feminine issue rather than appendicitis.

Mine was in my pediatricians office as a 16 year old.

A small internal medicine clinic. Yes, it was expected. Still, the thrill of being told to take off "everything" for the first time and to put on a gown, "with the opening in the back," was a rush.

What I remember most is what I THOUGHT was going to be my first time. I was 24 and heading back to school. The college had a physical exam form for the doc to fill out. I still remember seeing the word "rectal," right under "genitalia." I was so nervous and so excited at the same time.

I didn't have a regular doctor then so I just made an appointment and took whoever they assigned me to. I was told to strip to my shorts right away and waited for the doc. He was all business -- probably mid-40s. He had the form I had brought but didn't really look at it. He had me take down my underwear for the genital check and then pull them back up. He was seated and I was standing at the end of the exam table.

Then he wheeled over to the little desk and filled out the form all at once. I watched him check the boxes as "OK." He checked the "genitalia box." Then ... he hesitated at the "rectal" box. I was so nervous ... standing there in just my white briefs.

But then he just checked the box without even looking at my rectum. For 10 years, I fantasized about him realizing his omission, telling me to take off my underwear, getting me into position, and slipping his finger inside me.

I was 34 when I had my first one. But that anxiety at age 24 is what sticks with me.

It was at my pediatrician. I was 16' that Time.

It was in an internal medicine office for an employment exam after graduate school and I was only 25 or 26. The doctor was probably in his mid to late 60s and very old fashioned. He was working from a printed examination form. I just had my shirt off for the exam and he had me stand on a four legged step stool and lower my pants and briefs to have the genital and hernia exams, which he did bare handed. After I coughed for the second hernia, he reached in a box and pulled out a finger cot and pulled it on as he said "a rectal is on the form, so we had better do it. Turn around and bend over." His finger entered my anus and I could feel his hand on my cheeks. I always liked the finger cot memory because it was my first anal penetration and the single finger covered with the latex emphasizes the reality that it is going to go in the anus. Gloves are great but they can be used for any part of an exam. The finger cot has only one purpose.

It was in the urology department of a university hospital, the waiting room was in the hallway. It was on a second visit to the doctor, after emptying my bladder and providing urine and blood samples. It was expected.

Yes it was expected. My first (and very recent) rectal exam was in a small clinic outside of city that mostly focuses on plastic surgery but has some other medical specialties as well . I went to a proctologist there who is middle aged woman.

After filling a form I met the doctor. It turned out at the moment she didn't have access to her own office so she led me to the gynecologist office on the first floor. There was gyno chair and small examination table near the entrance. After describing my symptoms she said she need to check it. At first the way she described what position should I take I couldn't exactly understand. Maybe I was just too nervous.

Turns out I had to take a knee-elbow position on a draped table while facing window and drop my pants. When I did that she wasn't actually facing me but she took out anoscope and anasthetic gel from the cabinet. I couldn't see much in this position but I felt it when the cold tip of the instrument touched my anus. She must have applied lots of gel because she slid it inside very smoothly and quick. After checking and moving the anoscope for a while she removed it and quickly checked again but this time with a finger. After that it was quickly over.

My first rectal exam came as a naive teenager at a Proctologist office. I had an intestinal polyp as a kid so, when i had a bit of blood in my stool as a teen, I went to have it checked it out.

I was so nervous that I don't remember what the doctor said at all. What she was checking for etc. I just remember lying on my side and feeling her lube up my rectum before the intrusion.

It was an intense experience for me. At the time I was already well aware of my medical fetish and I was sporting a rock hard erection the whole time.

In an internist's office when I was in college. It was a complete surprise. It was my first comprehensive physical exam when I really wasn't expecting a physical exam at all. It was a small exam room in a house where this doctor's office was. I guess that he rented it instead of being in a regular medical office building. I don't think that he lived there. It was a small house on a main street in an area that had some residences, some small offices in older houses like his, and some large office buildings. I have written about this experience before. I was referred to this internist by another doctor who hadn't done much of an examination because he thought that I would be in better hands with an internist. I called the internist's office to make an appointment and was surprised when his receptionist said that he had an opening that afternoon. Other than going to a doctor when I was sick, that was the fastest appointment I ever had to see a doctor. I remember driving to his office and may have parked on the street nearby as I don't remember him having a parking lot. Walked in, checked in with his receptionist and sat for only a few minutes in his very small waiting area. It had maybe three chairs in it. The doctor personally came out, introduced himself, and escorted me into an exam room that was next to the receptionist desk. Thinking back, I realized that his receptionist could probably hear the whole exam. It didn't seem important at the time. The house where his office was seemed very small so it might have been only four or five rooms. I know that I had blood drawn after the physical so maybe his receptionist was really his nurse. Definitely didn't have a nurse take me to the exam room and do the preliminaries. The doctor did all that. Talked to me for a while and then told me to get undress. He left the room and I stripped down. The rectal was at the end of the exam.

20 years old near my college at the hospital ER. I had peed blood so they did some tests including a digital rectal exam. Everything was unexpected because I didn’t know what they were going to do. The doctor was a nervous young male, maybe an intern. I love rectal exams when Playing Doctor but this one wasn’t exciting.

I had my first rectal while I was in the hospital. I was in my mid twenties. It was to check for bleeding before they gave me blood thinners. Totally unexpected and performed by a GYN intern who was on an internal medicine rotation.

24 years ago because of an emergency room visit. I had appendicitis and had just passed the only kidney stone that I have ever had (knock on wood). The nurse had just obtained a urine sample from a catheter that she had put in (which made me think of a garden hose when I first saw it). The doctor came in and did the exam with no warning whatsoever. By the feel of things at that time, I think that he checked my tonsils while he was there.

As an adult, I was age 24. My GP did it after I went to her complaining of repeated diarrhoea, which was the beginning of IBS.

My first ever, I can't remember - but I had them a number of times in childhood as part of follow-up visits following surgery on my lower bowel and rectum as a baby.

It was in the emergency room when they thought I had an appendicitis. I was 15. It was repeated by several doctors over the course of the evening. It was totally humiliating.

My first rectal examination was during a military medical examination; I was 18 then. Military medical research took place in what was a state building. There was a large hall which we entered one by one. It was the size of a school classroom. Genital examination and rectal examination were performed in a corner of the room separated by screens. There was a couch behind the screens, and on it I had to take a knee-chest position.

It was embarrassing because the examination was done by a woman and I was completely naked (the panties had to be taken off behind the screen).

I was only glad that the examination was taking place without witnesses.

I remember that after the examination, the doctor took off the gloves and threw them into the garbage can. The basket was almost full. I thought that that day a lot of boys felt a finger in their rectum for the first time. It was a bit comforting that I was not the only one who had to undergo this examination

I was in high school and was experiencing testicular pain, so I ended up at a urologist's office and got a rectal exam so that he could figure out what was going on with me. (My problem was ruled a case of bacterial epididymitis.) I was, maybe, 17. And that was the first time anything had been up there, and for all the thoughts I'd had about guys, I remember walking out of the medical building thinking: Is that what I really want? (A few years later and the right guy in a more suitable situation eliminated any doubts I had.)

My first rectal was at my GP's, I was in my early 20s and had been having some problems with my appendix. I was told to lay on my side with my knees up to my chest, and to be honest I thought he was going to give me an injection until he told me to take a deep breath and let it out slowly. As I was doing that he proceeded to insert two fingers. Actually the examination was fairly comfortable, I've had worse since with just the one finger...

My first rectal was for a physical I needed before I could enter high school. On the paper work a genital exam was listed as a requirement. I have had little experience with doctors until that time and was completely trusting. The doctor had agreed to see me a little later than his usual closing and since his office was within easy walking distance from home I went by myself. There was no nurse present during the exam and I didn't realize that this may be unusual. The exam went as prescribed including a hernia check. I was then asked to bend over the exam table and he inserted his finger for the rectal exam. He said something about me being full and proceeded to massage my prostate and then my premium in the direction of my penis after which he massaged my penis toward the urethral opening. He didn't masterbate me to ejaculation and I don't remember if he expressed any fluid. At the time I was so nieve that I didn't know that what he did was probably inappropriate or illeagle.

In Dr's office about late 20's. Couldn't tell you how many times I've been examined back there since then, LOTS of times.

My first was at four or five years of age, best I remember I had some rectal bleeding and a doctor laid me on an exam table and put a glass test tube in my butt and shined a light in it. I don't remember what happened about fixing the issue. Next exam was military at 18. Next at forty for prostate check.

Like others, it was a routine annual physical, with my family doctor, but not expected. I was 19, and home during the winter break from college. The physical had gone like most others before, and after the hernia check I expected I’d be told I could get dressed. Instead, the doctor said he needed to do a rectal exam too. So, he instructed me to turn around, and bend over the exam table. I believe he used a large swab, and moved it around inside a bit, while I envisioned he was using a penlight to peer around inside me. Then h said I was all set, handed me some tissues to wipe the excess lube with, and told me I could get dressed.

I still remember leaving through the waiting room, with my head still spinning from what had just happened. I’d never had someone else feeling around inside me like that, and as I got out to my car, it felt like nothing I’d known before. On the drive home, I stopped at my old school, to use the bathroom because I now really needed to have a large bowel movement. I used the handicapped restroom near the gym, so I had some privacy. After, with semen already dripping from my penis, I masturbated standing over the toilet. When I orgasmed, it was so powerful, I needed to lean against the wall as my legs began to buckle. A couple hours later at home, I did it again, because my head was still buzzing after this new experience, and I needed the release.

Almost 10 years later, with the same doctor, I had another unexpected rectal exam, thus time for an employment physical. The doctor had thought it would just involve a quick check me over, and him filling out the form I brought. He said I didn’t need to undress. Then, he realized they did want a more extensive exam, so he told me I needed to remove my pants and briefs, so he could do a rectal exam. So, one minute I’m just chatting casually with the med student, who was friends with my relatives, and then the next I’m naked from the waist down and bent over the exam table while the doctor is probing me inside and the med student looks on. I think the most embarrassing part was when they handed me tissues, and I wiped myself with them both sitting there.

When I was 25, because I used a format I've customized/made myself, and lied about needing a head-to-toe, pre-employment physical; the female doctor performed the rectal exam with me completely naked holding my knees to my chest on the exam table.
