Do you feel "more naked" as a circumcised man?

I'm uncut, but I feel like being circumcised would make me feel "more naked" when others can see my penis. With the foreskin, I feel like the most private part of my body (my glans) is at least concealed. Your thoughts?

Circumcised men don't care if you see their glans in contrast to any other part of their penis.

In cultures and historical eras where un-circumscribed was the norm in a society, a retracted foreskin with visible glans was usually an indication of a desire for sex and when occurring in a non-sexual situation, it was considered very embarrassing and inappropriate, even in cultures where male nudity in itself was not considered unusual.

I doubt very much that nowadays it would be considered appropriate for a non-circumcised male to walk around in a nudist resort with his foreskin retracted - even when flaccid. That would certainly be thought of as inappropriate sexual nudity.

I think @agracier is right. I think seeing my husband's glans when his foreskin is retracted is a sexual thing really. I am his wife so I am supposed to be the only woman who sees his glans now when I have sex with him or when I am washing his penis in the shower or in the bath which I love doing every day. I get why an uncircumcised man maybe feels more "naked" if he has got his foreskin retracted and his glans is showing. Maybe a lot of circumcised men in America just do not think about it like that because it is just bare all the time.

Actually, it will depend on if you are looking at the question through an American filter or not. In that country, males who are circumcised (and American females who are more used to seeing that), perhaps it does seem ridiculous. But to the rest of the world apart from areas where circumcision is prevalent for religious reasons, it will not be ridiculous at all.

The OP's nationailty is not given on his profile, so unless he posts again, we don't know where he is from. I think that here in the UK at least, there is thought to be a difference between being nude and putting the glans on display when it is normally hidden.

That's more like what I meant, but the size is still an important factor when they are seen.

I think it is ridiculous to think having some skin covering your dick makes a difference. As far as size goes, you got with what you're born with and as long as it works it's all good. I never had anyone say anything about size to anyone in a locker room. It just wasn't done. It would be like girls commenting on titty size. Well maybe not since some girls can't shut it.

Men who are circumcised (when it is all they have known) and live in a society where the majority of other males are also circumcised are perhaps much less likely to see the point the OP was making.

That seems to be the reason girls give for wanting a cut guy. For me the clitoris is a beautiful part of the vulva and should be on full display so girls make Dr Kellogg and me happy. CUT THAT HOOD off and any other parts that are obscuring my view.

The funny thing is, for me growing up, I never gave it any thought at all. Growing up all my friends and mates were all circumsized like me. It wasn't until I entered Jr. High where I saw my first un-cut dick. I can remember thinking how different and strange they looked. There were only about 10 or so in the locker room and all the rest were cut like mine.....

Well back in 72 when I entered what was then called Jr. High we were 3 sections of boys in each gym class. So we were about 15-20 boys in each section. There was one guy from Poland who wasn't cut and we didn't know any better so we thought something was wrong with his dick. The gym teacher, sent the guy on an errand and had a man to man talk with us about circumcision. The poor fellow looked like an ant eater! You can't go by size just by how big the dangle is. Some are show-ers and some are grow-ers. We also had one African American guy in our small high school. There was around 400 in my graduating class. Mr. and Mrs. small town America. That Lad was HUNG with a capital H! Well we all did quite a bit of talking amongst ourselves. The damned thing actually swung back and forth as he walked from the shower area to the bench where his clothing were! So we actually wondered if that tool he was carrying got longer as many of our's did. We figured if that thing grew the ways ours did that he might pass out from lack of blood to the brain! Of course word got out and it wasn't long before most of the girls on cheerleading squad wanted to go out with him. That didn't last long. Of course we were eaves dropping at the lunch room table where the cheerleader sat. We all had tables. Band kids at one table, football at another Cheerleaders at their table etc etc etc. Well the things that adolescent boys discover from the locker rooms!

There are many countries, the majority in fact, where circumcision is not the standard norm and where therefore, girls will not especially want a cut male.

I would suspect most guys think what they have is normal, weather cut or not. I'm uncut and the idea of having my head hidden never occurred to me until reading this post. I saw lots of guys in the lockers in High School and every dick is different, and yet they are all pretty much the same. Surprisingly there was virtually no discussion about dicks in the lockers back then, it was sort of an unwritten law that you didn't bust your buddies balls over his junk. I remember one time a guy on the football team called another player an "uncircumcised bastard" at a party, they were both uncut so the comment seemed doubly strange.

I'm circumcised and I've shown my penis to thousands of people, along with the rest of my body, in my figure modeling work. Obviously, my glans being exposed is just the natural appearance, but I have thought that an uncircumcised model who somehow exposed his glans, maybe while doing a pose which stretches that part of the body, it could be seen somewhat risqué.

Where I've thought about this sort of thing before has been with female models. The first female I saw posing for a group, when I was just starting out as a model, her outer labia was partially exposed, just naturally, even when her legs were together. You could see the top of her clitoral hood as well. I always thought women like that were showing a good deal more to artists when they pose, the sort of thing other female models would need to spread their legs to expose, (which is not the sort of thing called for in this type of modeling.)

As far as size, personally, if I were concerned about that, then I wouldn't have been nude so often in front of others. I'm proudly hung like a chipmunk.

Maybe it is an inverted insult take from a more or less famous insult that Teddy Roosevelt once levelled by calling someone a 'circumcised skunk'.

TR said that in the days before American males were virtually all circumcised. So repeating TR's phrase would not make much sense anymore. But no need, just inverse the conditions and you've got yourself a perfectly good insult.

Then again maybe your guy on the football team just picked one of any number of physical traits that might be different and assigned an insult value to it. It's done with skin coloring, eye shape, lip size and so on ... nothing new about that ...

Never gave it a thought until I saw this post. It was done 2-3 days after birth and have had no issues since.

Granted I only have one penis and one opinion, but I still dont think it makes one bit of difference if the head of the penis is exposed. Either you’re crotch is viewable (naked) or not.

I think women can make an excellent analogy. If a woman stands naked, with her legs slightly parted, some labia minora will ‘dangle’ or poke out between the majora. Other women simply have the cleft of the majora, with no inner lips showing. Now, is one of those women any ‘more’ naked than the other? No, their genitals are exposed, in their nature state... ie naked.

With all due respect @DrZ, the question WAS asked of circumcised men, and from what I’ve read, none of us give a shit if our head is showing. The head, shaft, balls... its all genitalia and either it’s being seen or not.

Turning this around, how many circumcised guys have their foreskin roll up over their glans, causing an appearance which others may wonder about? That shriveled up look.

When this happens to me around others, maybe from swimming, cool temperature, or just bending over and the glans is swallowed by the foreskin, it can be an embarrassing sight. And, for me, the sensation is like suffocation!

Happens while modeling, frequently, and sometimes while I'm holding a pose and can't really reach down and pull it back. I just have to put up with it, or try to subtly flex things back to normal.

Those of you who are cut, can never have it undone. And when done immediately after birth, you have no memory of it either. So there is never anything at all you can do about it.

But those who are not circumcised can be future targets - especially youngsters who again have no say in the matter. Or older men under pressure from a partner for instance, be it for social, personal or religious reasons.

All of those situations can and do cause concern and worry. Especially when there is any kind of non-medical pressure applied. And even then, many (American) doctors seem to think it is their mission as a doctor to have their male patients circumcised. Why? ... because.

So yes, uncircumcised males will indeed think more about this matter, because they are the ones at risk of being pressured into an unwanted and/or unnecessary circumcision.

Have you ever heard of a forced/coerced foreskin restoration? Probably not. It is the other way around that this thing works. I bet if forced foreskin restoration ever became a social movement with real impact, then you circumcised guys would start to give the idea more attention and thought.

@Pecan_nutjob I assume he had it done at birth, and you only discussed it in your 20s? I hope he’s still not carrying around that anger all his life. Parents can do a lot of abusive things to children, but I dont consider this abuse. If his penis works (gets erect and can orgasm), then whats done is done, get over it and move on. Being angry for 70 yrs is a terrible way to live.

Nor should a parent pressure either. Not on a newly-born, but certainly not on older youngsters or anyone under-age. Or on adults either for that matter.

Even when I was 25 and a few weeks before I about to get married, my father just couldn't help starting (yet again) with his apocalyptic warnings about not being circumcised. Uncircumcised means certain infection, infection ultimately means an impossibility of being cured and hence leads in cases to an unavoidable medically necessary/mandated penectomy (though he used less medically correct words ... ha ha).

I am not exaggerating his ideas on the matter, which were incidentally, the ideas he got from his family. Medical nutcases, all of them ...

I'm afraid it falls apart there, these were football players, I can assure you none of them ever quoted TR, Sly Stone was a more likely source of quotes for these guys. As far as picking on some different aspect of his body to insult our school was about half Latino so about half uncut. The guy who said it was uncut and I doubt he ever saw a cut guy before HS.

Having been circumcised as a newborn it's hard to answer that as I have no way of comparing it to being uncircumcised. I have never considered it as being more "naked." It is, what it is.
