Uncouth discussion between females

Ever heard of adult women discussing foreskin issues, or possible circumcision, of their husbands or sons?

When I was about 6, a cousin of mine was diagnosed with phimosis and, after useless and painful attempts at forced retraction of his foreskin, was circumcised. That matter was discussed between his mother and her sister, my own mother, who began to suspect I may have a similar problem. I ended up having to show my wee-wee to my aunt for comparison, and my cousin had to show the post-surgery result to my mother, who had never seen a circumcised penis.

I thought of that as quite uncouth and perhaps unusual.

Later the topic of circumcision came by accident in a discussion with a female friend, who has two daughters so is not directly concerned but said "you know, mothers talk together".

When my American mother in law noticed, during a diaper change, that our son was not circumcised, she questioned my wife about it — according to her it was the "normal thing to do".

Then recently a Zity member, who has untreated phimosis, told me that his wife pressures him to get circumcised and has told her own mother and her sister about the issue, and that both relatives approve the suggested treatment.

So I'm now suspecting my aunt and my mom's actions were not so unusual... Your opinion?

I like to find out what women think about circumcision and uncircumcised penises. It's one of my kinks. In my age group (~20's) I have brought up the topic, politely of course! Many of them confess to not giving the topic much thought.

More on topic, though, my mom was very worried about how long my foreskin was when I was younger, going as far as saying I should be circumcised. It was my choice; I chose not to be and everything works just fine now.

This situation has actually happened to me more than once. I am the oldest sibling/grandchild/cousin so any time a family member was expecting (a boy), the topic came up. I remember being asked to show my penis to my aunt when I was 9 (as I am uncut) then to another aunt at 13 (to show how retraction worked since my uncle is circumcised).

Fortunately I was pre pubescent and everything remained flaccid. Two years later would have had a different response. It was in ways a vaguely sexual experience, of having so much female focus on my penis.

The result of all that female attention was that after they got the foreskin back I was left alone. Thankfully as puberty was approaching and the result of all that handling would resulted in an unpredicted and uncontrollable stretching exercise.

I always found this particularly embarrassing and humiliating to hear medical issues being talked about in a very matter of fact way that somehow seemed insensitive.

I hated hearing my mother make even a passing reference to my older sister or my aunt, to any of her friends or our neighbours, even it was for example just to confirm a change in the routine: "I cant make it on Tuesday afternoon as Im taking Andrew to the clinic", that kind of thing.

Worse still was when they would show an interest and ask how I was dong and my mum would start talking about my development assessments and tight foreskin just as casually as if I was attending with a sprained wrist or a verruca

There were occasions when i was inspected in front of other people. Often my mother would come up to the bathroom to check me over. Other times I would have to go down to the kitchen to see her, especially if she was busy talking to my aunt or other friend who she considered close enough that I should not be shy.

It wasn't anything THEY hadn't seen, but the child hadn't been seen by THEM.

Parent's friends and relatives aren't doctors.

Those parents have no sensitivity for their children's feelings.

This is interesting as I was not cut and was never expected to show it to any of the relatives or friends of my mother. I never heard her discuss it with anyone either. It was NOT a problem at school we all just accepted that some of us were not cut and some were. Nobody got shamed for being either way. This was in the US in the early 50s. I was 10 in 1950. Before I entered school in 1945 my mother told/warned me I would see other guys who didn't look like me and explained why. She told me when I was born the doctor asked if she wanted me cut and she replied "you're not cutting anything off my baby boy". The doctor's reply was "then you're going to have to retract his foreskin and wash under it at every bath". She did do that until she turned the job over to me when I was over five. The only relatives having anything to do with my penis would have happened when I was a baby. My father's home movies show the ritual of putting a tub on the kitchen table to give the new baby a bath every time they visited. I had one aunt who had 13 kids and many of them were girls. The boys were not interested in giving the baby a bath but the girls were all instructed in the retraction to wash procedure and I have that on film. After I was old enough to remember things, my penis or foreskin was never the object of inspection or discussion except for me and the neighbor girls checking each other out when playing. It wasn't forced but I was outnumbered 2 to 1. One day one of the girls told the other that her older brother told her girls have 2 biscuits and boys have a bat and 2 balls. They wanted to check that out and being the only boy in the area I knew I was about to be the demonstration subject so I negotiated a biscuit check before voluntarily dropping my pants. We WERE all friends so I didn't mind showing them. This created the comment that it "doesn't look like my brothers". I pulled back my foreskin and she said"now it does". That little movable piece of skin became a subject of their interest and they asked to see that often over the next year or so. One asked if she could move it herself which created something else they both found even more interesting. That was my first erection that I was aware of but now I knew what that strange feeling was I sometimes had in my pants. One of them had a visiting cousin a couple years older than us she wanted to show that to and the other had a couple girls from school she wanted to share it with but I never got any more biscuit checks out of allowing that. The girl with brothers liked it when I checked her biscuits and wanted me to do that quite often. They were 8mm silent movies and I was a baby so I have no idea what my mother said to them. They look to be about 5 to 12 years old in the movies. I rarely saw any of them except when a couple of older sisters got married and we went to the weddings. One girl who was about my age stayed with us for a couple weeks one summer when I was about 14 or 15. She was a cute red head and we had a great time after we got to know each other. It seems to me that more and more what used to be considered “unusual” sexual attitudes are more accepted and openly discussed today than in the past. Anal sex, BDSM, homosexual, lesbian and transexuals, LBGTQAIXYZ are more mainstream than in the past…… and these topics are even being brought up in our schools.

And at the same time, even mention of these things causes so many to start frothing at the mouth and for the more unscrupulous type of politicians to take advantage and introduce and pass all kinds of hateful anti-xxx legislation … the discussions themselves are polarizing and when they garner national attention as is now the case, you can rest assured that hate will always prove stronger than acceptance and will end up eroding the gains made in the past.

My father was a home movie nut and my mother was so infatuated with her baby boy that every time we had visitors in was bathe the baby time in the porcelain tub on the kitchen table with my father filming it. The girls weren't necessarily teens some were much younger and retracting the baby's foreskin was an important part of his bath. The doctor had really impressed that on my mother so she felt it HAD to be passed on to anyone who might be bathing an intact male baby in their future. I just happened to be the training aid.

From other sites I read about boys as old as 16 not even knowing that their foreskin can BE retracted. It makes me wonder how uninformed their mothers are or maybe they just don't give a shit.

Back in 1980 when I got a new scanner I heard a call about a man with a gun walking down the street. Every cop within ten miles came over to assist our town police. They didn't even arrest that guy carrying a baseball bat leaving the Legion's ball field. Even if he had been carrying a rifle that wouldn't have been illegal.

My high school not only had a rifle team, but we also had a rifle range in the basement of the school; and that was in a suburb of New York! I'm sure they've poured concrete into the basement to seal it off, by now.

But that would have been in the 1950's, before spree killings and serial murder became impressed on the general consciousness as something likely to occur anywhere, at any time, by anyone.

In other words, the historical and social circumstances were completely different in the 1950s. By the 1980s it would have been negligent to react as in the 1950s.

Blame the change on criminals, not on a change in the rules of law enforcement.

@roscoe I think there is a wide gap between that, and the attitude espoused by many physicians in France that if things have not eased up before age 6 then the issue has to be forced.
