“Are you alright Amelie?” Amanda, Amelie’s co-worked asked noticing her holding her stomach, “ugh, I’ve had this stomach pain all day. Maybe I’ve eaten something funny who knows?” Amelie answered “You’re not pregnant are you?” Amanda questioned with her eyebrow raised, “With my husband, absolutely not. We’ve made it very clear we’re not ready for a baby and he’s a doctor he never lets me miss a shot” Amelie giggled. “Well why don’t you go home and get some rest I’ll finish up here, take a couple days off you never take time off”

Amelie agreed to go home despite knowing her husband would see her come through the front door by the doorbell security camera. They had an expensive house so having security cameras was essential. She made herself a heat pack and laid down on the couch when suddenly she got a phone call from surprise husband. “Hello” she answered “Honey is everything alright you’re home early?” Alex Brown her husband asked “Yeah everything’s fine I’ve just got a slight stomach ache, I’ve taken some pepto it should kick in soon.” Amelie replied “Sweetheart, this could be gastroenteritis or a bowel obstruction I’ll be home soon to have a proper look at you, I need you in bed please”

Amelie agreed and made her way to bed. It wasn’t long before her husband made it home and rushed upstairs. “Poor baby, let’s get you all fixed up” he said softly pulling the covers back off her. “Now be a good girl and take those pants off for me let’s take your temperature first” he cooed “Oral temperature is fine and I’ve taken it, it’s fine” Amelie answered “Honey you know how I feel about oral temperatures, rectal temperature is far more accurate and you feel warm. So come on”

Amelie agreed lifting her bottom up so her husband could assist her to take her pyjamas and underwear off. “I think Doctor Brown is going to have to take a look at the front too later, but let’s start on this first” he giggled as it sent shivers up Amelies spine. “Alright sweetie, just hold still for me” he said gently inserting a rectal thermometer up her anus, holding it there for three minutes “Ah yes, an elevated temperature just like I suspected. Honey I need to do a full examination on you today, and we’re not going to cut any corners okay. I’ve brought my whole kit home and we’re going to get to the bottom of whatever’s going on. You know daddy doesn’t do this all the time, but you’re sick and I need to take good care of my patient”
