But I decided early that because of the conservative nature of our city I would only be able to do this by accepting referrals from couples I have helped. Shirley you said some couples read the Disclosure and Consent form and call you with questions. You said a few couples come over to talk about it personally. What do you do when they come over. First I make them a cup of coffee or tea, whatever they like and we just talk and I get to know them and they get to know me. They usually realize that I am a genuine person who really cares about them. I show them the medical room and the equipment I will be using like the Peterson and Collins speculums. I explain why I will be using those and the benefit to both of them of seeing the inside of a vagina and understanding the parts of the vulva. I also tell them about the rave reviews my course gets from its graduates. And I tell them there is no pressure, it is totally their decision and if they don’t want to continue I will refund their money right there on the spot. If they ask that specifically I feel compelled to answer them honestly then I tell them what they have to do, how it fits into the course, and the benefits of doing it. Both of them told me they were trying to imagine what it would be like laying there nude with me and their future spouse watching them. I did everything I could think of to relieve their anxieties. They finally decided to take the session and after the honeymoon they both came to my house and raved about the course, what I taught them, and how the sex was so great. The woman has referred more couples to me than any other person. So reluctance is not a bad thing. I just try to explain the facts, the reason for everything we do, assure them that I am a medical professional and I will treat them as such, and that everything, I mean everything is totally confidential. That is really all I can do and then the couple must make a decision. Most decide to continue with the session. One reason I can be so neutral about a couples decision is that I don’t need the money to live on. I only use the money to buy equipment and supplies as I told you before. That allows my motives to be pure.

Since then that has happened many times and a few of my clients have had elevated temperatures, like Jim did. When that happens I give them a complete physical like I did Jim and call Dr. Novak with the results. Usually a high fever is an infection and he proscribes 10 day penicillin and I give the injection.
