Lydia, a beautiful 18-year-old girl, is disoriented after dropping out of high school. After much toing and froing, she decided to apply to the German Armed Forces for a voluntary social year. Surprisingly, she was accepted relatively quickly, so that she was able to arrive at the Bundeswehr center just three weeks later. But before she can really start, there is still one last examination to do.

With a bit of tension, I tear out the envelope that was pressed into my hand by a staff member at the Bundeswehr Center: "Here's the letter, it contains everything you need to know about your final recruitment examination. Since yesterday I had been in a room with Marie, who had already passed the examination and could enter the barracks tomorrow. We didn't talk much and especially not about intimate details of her examination from which she came back yesterday. So now I sit on my bed and read the summons for my examination. At the moment I don't know what to expect at all. I've already had the general fitness examination, which wasn't too bad. Stress test, ECG, blood pressure measurement and blood sampling. That's why I was surprised that another examination was due. What else is there to do, everything has been checked? I sit down on the bed and slowly start to read the letter. It talks about a thorough full-body examination, which should also include an examination of the genital area. When I read this, a cold shiver ran down my spine. I don't want to get naked in front of a complete stranger and show him my most intimate parts. Why even examine the genital area? I have been going to my gynecologist regularly for two years and everything is checked there. Of course it is unpleasant every time you have to go to the gynecological chair. You have to palpate the vagina with a finger, examine it with a speculum and take a smear - and that's it. Besides, this is different, I have built up trust with my gynecologist, she proceeds gently and explains every little step of the examination, so it is the least unpleasant for me. But now I have to read here in this letter that the German Armed Forces have their own examination standards and that the preliminary examination from the civilian sector is not recognized. Mh, well, maybe it will be half as bad and the doctor will just take a quick look between my legs and feel around a bit...maybe I won't have to undress completely. The letter said that I didn't need to bring anything else. But one note at the end surprised me: "You will take a shower before the examination here at the Armed Forces Health Center, after which the examination will take place. Please shave your intimate area thoroughly beforehand".

I don't need to be told the latter, I've had a steady boyfriend for a year and a half, with whom I also have sex frequently, and we both value and intimate shave. But why I should shower first there was not clear to me...well maybe again such special Bundeswehr requirements. Tomorrow it should start, it says here...I still circle a thousand thoughts through my head. Will I be examined on the chair? How thorough will this examination be and will something happen that I might not know from my gynecologist? I noticed that my head was turning red. At that moment, my roommate Marie came in and saw me sitting on my bed reading this letter. "When is your turn?" asked Marie. "Tomorrow morning already" I replied "Can you tell me a little bit about how this is going to go?". To which Marie replied "Lydia, it's better to go in there completely unprepared. Believe me, it's no use me telling you details now in advance. It is not pleasant, yes, but you will survive". Well that sounds great...now I'm just getting more scared. I realize that Marie doesn't like to talk about it, of course I understand that she is embarrassed. I ask her one last question on the subject: "But the examination is done by a woman, isn't it? And do I have to pay attention to anything special?". Marie answered, "Yes, in my case it was a woman. But there are several female and male doctors who perform this examination, so I can't promise you that you'll get the same female doctor as I did. And oh yes...go to the bathroom properly beforehand, also big". Marie's last sentence unsettles me again...why should I take a dump before the examination? The doctor will probably not still create at my butt hole....

Well, it's no use to go crazy now. I have no choice but to go to bed and wait for tomorrow...for the day of my examination...whatever may await me there.
