Nicole turned red but managed to offer a bashful smile in response to Katie’s discovery and comments about the thermometer and supplies on her dresser.

“Well, which is it?,” Katie said, pressing the issue and kind of enjoying making her friend a little uncomfortable.

“My first visit to Dr. Keating… Do you go to him, too?,” Nicole asked, finally finding words and becoming more at ease.

“Yeah, my sister, brother, and I have been going there for years. I forgot that you were moving over to him. It’s kind of weird that they take everyone’s temperature that way, but it’s not so bad. My mom does it that way on us sometimes, and I’ve even taken my little brother’s when he was sick,” Katie explained. She paused and then smiled. “And frankly I don’t mind it when Natalie does it to me.”

“I was shocked that they did that, and I can’t believe my mom found my old thermometer and put it out here. Anyway, let’s go do something,” Nicole said, trying to change the subject, though she was also thinking about Katie being on the exam table, and then her taking sliding a thermometer into her brother’s butt.

“Yeah, let’s go to the pool. But first, we should probably make sure you don’t have a fever, Nicole,” Katie said, picking up the thermometer and removing it from its case.

“Uh, no, that’s ok…,” Nicole stammered.

“It’s important to make sure you’re ok… now let me show you that I’m just as good as Natalie at doing this,” Katie says cheerfully, shaking down the thermometer. She goes over to Katie’s bed and sits down on the edge.

“Over my lap, young lady,” Katie orders.

“Oh my god, really?,” Nicole says, shocked but grinning, still thinking Katie might be joking.

“Let’s go… c’,mon,” Katie says, patting her lap.

“Oh for fuck’s sake…,” Nicole says, surrendering and laying across Katie’s lap.

“Good girl… now I’m going to pull down your shorts,” Katie advised, as she tugged down Nicole’s shorts and then her panties, exposing her bare bottom.

“I can’t believe you’re doing this…,” Nicole groans. She doesn’t really know what to make of the feelings of embarrassment and vulnerability like she felt with Natalie earlier, but also a feeling of intimacy with her friend as their bare legs touched. She thought back to the time they kissed and fooled around, which helped her to zone out and relax for what Katie was about to do.

“Here we go, sweetie,” Katie said, as she lubed the thermometer and parted Nicole’s cheeks.

“Mmmmmm,” Nicole moaned as the thermometer gently penetrated her. “Sorry….uh…,” she trailed off, having dropped her inhibitions.

Nicole closes her eyes and lets herself enjoy the moment, and the feeling of comfort of Katie’s hand resting against her bottom. She gently pushes back and forth on the thermometer, which brings a smile to Katie’s face.

“So do you know if your brother’s exams with Dr. Keating are pretty much the same as what the girls get,” Nicole asks, thinking about her brother’s upcoming visit.

“Yeah, basically all the same. Except they check his balls and stuff instead of looking at the girly parts. I was in the room with him once. Why, did your brother go today, too?,” Katie asked.

“No, he’s going next week….I think he’s going to freak out,” Nicole says, laughing.

“Probably…. My brother always complains, but then he was hard the time I saw him get checked out, so he must not hate it as much as he says he did,” Katie says, giggling.

“I think the boys must like Natalie… the guy when went in before me came out covering a boner and had leaked on the exam table. The little perv,” Nicole snickered.

“Allright, let’s see how you’re doing,” Katie said, slowly pulling the thermometer out of Nicole.

Katie held the thermometer up to the light to read it. “99 on the nose… I guess Nurse Katie won’t have to push a suppository up your butthole now. But we’ll check again later,” she added, as Nicole pulled her shorts and panties up.

“Thank god for that,” Nicole said, relieved, though kind of surprised that Katie basically said she would have been ok putting her finger up her butt if she had a fever.

“I’m good at that, too, if you have a fever later,” Katie said, holding up her finger and wiggling it around.

“Must be tough being good at so many things. I hope you’re also good at keeping a secret, since I don’t want everyone knowing about this stuff,” Nicole joked as she got up.

Katie stands in front of her and pulls her closer. “Secret’s safe. Just like this….,” she says planting a kiss on Nicole’s lips.

Nicole holds her tight and whispers, “thank you” in Katie’s ear, before she returns the kiss.

“Anything for my best friend, sweetie,” Katie says, breaking away so they can gather up their stuff for the pool.

The two girls head downstairs and grab some snacks from the kitchen. Nicole’s brother Ryan comes in from outside as the girls are standing there.

“Hey Ry… how’s it going?,” Katie says to him, checking him out.

“Good… what are you guys up to?,” he replied, noticing the attention.

“We’re just back from tennis and are going to the pool. Oh, Mom said she’d be late tonight, so we’re probably on our own for dinner,” Nicole said.

“Yeah, we’re going to the pool now. We were just upstairs for a while so Nicole could fill me in about her visit to your new doctor,” Katie said. “My brother, sister, and I go to Dr. Keating, too, so we got to compare notes a little. I’m sure she’ll tell you all about it….,” she added.

Ryan remembered that he had an appointment coming up. He was always anxious about going to the doctor, and heard some vague things about experiences at Dr. Keating’s office. Something in Katie’s voice suggested that there was more to the story.

“Let’s go Katie….I don’t think Ryan needs to hear about it,” Nicole says before Ryan could say anything. She couldn’t believe Katie brought it up.

“See you later, Ryan…I think my brother’s home in case you want to hang out with him,” Katie said as she and Nicole left the house.

“Cool...later,” Ryan said.

“Why did you bring that up with him?,” Nicole said to Katie, half-serious/ half-joking.

“I don’t know...I just wanted to see you turn red, and he looked a little scared, too. He’ll forget about it as soon as sits in front of the TV,” Katie said, acknowledging that she knew she was being a little devious in bringing up the subject.

“Whatever, he’s probably jerking off in his room by now anyway,” Nicole said, dropping the subject as they made their way to the pool.
