The piano recital was an annual event. Every spring the best students were chosen to display their musicianship for their parents. It was understood that lack of preparation or errors in performance would result in public discipline.

This year five 18 year old students were chosen, three female and two male. The first three, two girls and a boy gave excellent account of themselves; beautiful and faultless; no need for correction.
