Book 2 The Further Adventures of Mack and Cassandra

Chapter 1 - The early 22nd century mars missions

Chapter-1

Lockheed- NEW MISSION

Martian Training Habitat: Undergoing Special Astronaut Training at the Skunkworks, Sunnyvale, CA.

6:00 am August 25, 2106- 2 years later

After the high profile meeting with the Prime Minister and the President, there were various ideas and plans of how best to utilize our unique skills and abilities. It no longer made sense for me to pursue pirates and smugglers, since the original reason was to avenge Maureen’s death. Now I saw no reason to keep up the pursuit when it now put Cassandra at risk for my own personal vendetta. So I decided to give it all up! The Canadian Government bought the rights to the Magneto Hydrodynamic Drive, my entire drone technology, the Dominatrix, and my compound for 400 million Dollars. They got a really good deal, but of course I would never have to work another day for the rest of my life.

However, I knew that I would still need a mission and so did Cassandra; in fact, she knew it before I did, when she told the Admiral on his birthday in September of 2104 that we needed a mission. I’ve been awake since a quarter after 5. Thinking about the circumstances that brought Cassandra and me to this facility has taken up a lot of my spare time in the last couple of months

One of the first of these misbegotten ideas was to have Cassandra train and deploy with a Special Forces Team. I remember telling Admiral Bedford, “Sir, you can’t honestly expect them to accept her to train, eat, and sleep in close proximity when she neither eats nor sleeps? And how is she going to be able to charge? Are they supposed to pack a generator for her? Sir they will never accept her as one of their own, no matter how well she performs and I really think that it won’t take all that long for them to begin to resent her. Please Sir you need to convince whoever thought up this scheme that it won’t work.” I glanced over at Cassandra lying on her stomach in charge mode, her large charging cable and charging nozzle snaked out of her gorgeous ass like an oversized enema apparatus. Thankfully the Admiral had made compelling arguments that finally convinced The Canadian Military Planners to come up with something else. By December an off-world crises would create the need for an engineer and a language specialist, who also possessed a warrior ethos and that entire skill set. We were deemed the perfect team and offered the perfect mission. It took us less than a day to talk it all out and we both agreed; we were going to Mars!

The Martian Colony on the Tharsis Plateau had been established in 2053 after 10 years of unmanned landings of materials, habitat parts, mining equipment, and millions of tons of supplies. The first to arrive was an international team of Americans, Russians, Canadians, Europeans, and Japanese. The Chinese had been conspicuously left out, as were the Arabs and the Africans. Also conspicuously left out were the Latin Americans and all of South America. Now some 50 years later there were no return trips back to Earth, only one way trips to the Red Planet where massive terraforming activities were in full swing. Surface mining on Mars had not become the boom that it was first thought it was to be and now the thinking was to mine the asteroid belt. It had been known since the 20th century that certain asteroids were almost pure metals of various types and even some that were made up of desirable alloys. The current plan was to put a high resolution scanner in a high Mars orbit to make remote prospecting a feasible option.

“How long have you been awake?” She asked; I obfuscated, “On and off for a while, how are you?” “I feel charged up. Are you going to take a shower?” She asked and I said “Ya I was just about to get up and go in and…” She interrupted me using her vamp voice and personality and as she elevated her ass in the air, said, “Will you take my charger out for me, my love?” “How could I resist the temptation to play with your gorgeous ass, Cassie?” I put my right hand on her charging handle and then I ran my index and 3rd fingers through her pussy, lightly rubbing her, as I gently pulled on her handle. She grunted, rocking back and forth a little in pleasure, as I made the effort. Finally I felt the nozzle disengage from the special hermetically sealed socket some 35 centimeters deep within her ass, but I kept up massaging her pussy as I gently eased the charging nozzle out of her sexy bottom. She looked around at me and smiled, “I am lucky that such a perverted man found me, after another perverted man gave me the ability to feel like such a sexual woman.” “Now that’s the pot calling the kettle black!” I laughed and she looked curiously at me, “Mack…?” I interrupted her, “You’re a brilliant researcher, Cassie, go get on the system and figure out what the metaphor means.” I got out of bed and went in to get a shower.

The Mode

The primary planning element to any space mission is to decide what the Mode will consist of. For example, prior to the design of the Saturn V Rocket and the first landing on the Moon, they first had to figure out the Mode. Would the rocket go to the Moon, land and take off again and head back to earth? No, because weight and fuel consumption would mean that a catastrophic failure would have a high probability. Next an Earth Orbit Rendezvous was considered, but still the size of the rocket to get to the moon and take off again was still considered too risky and time consuming. Ultimately NASA opted for Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. Each step would leave non-essential equipment and weight behind. More importantly, the fuel that was needed to leave lunar orbit and get back to Earth would stay in orbit and would not have to be taken down to the lunar surface.

The Mars Fortification Mission: The first Mars Mission in the 22nd Century

As we are currently planning this mission, we first begin to outline the following Modes

EARTH ORBIT STAGING

The Mars mission, as we are currently planning it, consists of two different Primary modes, because the mission had evolved to have two distinct and separate goals. First, the mission would not launch from an Earth ground station, but several ground launches will assemble the Mars Master Command Ship and all of the modules that would make up the entire mission in Earth Orbit. This is where the trip to Mars will begin.

MARS LOW ORBIT RONDEVOUS

The entire mission is first inserted into low Mars Orbit. From here, the Martian Colonists detach and head down to the surface to join the Colony. Selected miners will stay behind in the crew module, while Cassandra and I will stay on the flight deck, using our private quarters as our living space.

ASTEROID LANDING AND EXTRACTION

The Mars Master Command Ship and all of the rest of the modules will continue in low Mars Orbit until the appropriate asteroid is selected. Then we will fly out and make the rendezvous with the rock, attach remote controlled thruster packs to it, and then fly it back to Mars.

MARTIAN MAR-SINCRONOUS ORBIT

With the selected asteroid in tow, the Master Command Ship and all remaining Modules will take up a Mar-Synchronous Orbit directly over the SAGAN Dome at the center of Tharsis City.

CONSTRUCTION OF SPACE ELEVATOR

Ever since the later part of the 20th Century, a space elevator has been the gold standard for getting in and out of orbit. However, the last 20 years has seen carbon nanotube technology reach the mass production techniques needed to produce long chains having the requisite strength to make the space tether a reality. In this particular scenario, the asteroid will be parked in a Mar-Synchronous orbit and fitted with 6th generation Lockheed mini-fusion reactors to both power the elevator and maintain orbital positioning with ion thrusters.

ASTEROID MINING AND EXTRACTION AND MASS DRIVER TRANSPORT

With the space elevator operational, we break orbit and head out to the asteroid belt to begin mining operations of the half mile wide rocks that have been preselected for their mineral content. Two crews will be dispersed by about 100,000 miles; each with their individual mining modules, each carrying mining equipment, a mass driver, and a mini-fusion reactor to power it. Each mass driver will send a low velocity stream to the head of the space elevator which will consolidate the ore and send it down to be dumped on the surface.
