The Visitor

Part 13 - Day on the Town

Walter and Lloyd had been following Aunt Betty and the girls for the first hour. They got bored with all the girl shopping so they asked for permission to wonder about the mall on their own.

As they walked down the hall checking out the different stores Walter felt self-conscious about wearing diapers under his overalls. He felt everyone could see his diaper. Lloyd had been wearing diapers long enough so he did not feel like people were watching him.

Walter asked, "Can you see my diapers, Lloyd?"

Lloyd looked him over but saw nothing of the diaper. "No, you ok, I don't see anything."

The boys have been looking at each shop as they passed by. Once in a while they would enter a store and look around. They spent much time in the Toy-R-Us.

Later they came to a store called, WEE-WEE ONE'S. The boys giggled at the name then entered to see what was inside.

At first they thought it was another toy store because of the rocking horses and other playthings on display. But upon closer observation they realized it was a baby needs store. They were greeted by an older lady who asked if she could help them.

"No, we're just looking." Walter said.

"That will be okay, boys. Just take your time and if you need any help I will be just over there." She pointed to a checkout table.

The boys began to look at baby clothing. Lloyd noticed what he thought to be little T-Shirts near some baby pants.

"Hey Walter, Look at these!" Lloyd pointed.

"What are they?" Walter asked.

The T-Shirts had long bottoms and there were some snaps along the bottom.

The sales lady seen that the boys might need help so she came over once again. "You boys need a 'onesy'?" She asked.

"Hugh?" Lloyd said.

"Onesy… that's what you're looking at." She smiled.

"What they for?" they asked.

"These are little shirts for toddlers." She explained.

"But what's the snaps for?" Walter asked.

"They help cover the diaper, see, you snap the back to the front like this." And she demonstrated by showing them.

"Oh… so the diaper won't be seen, eh?" Lloyd asked.

"Well, yes I guess, but it also holds the diaper in placed as the toddler walks around, you know, a wet diaper gets heavy and can slide down this will help to keep the diaper in place," she explained.

"These are for very young kids… you might be interested in something more for older boys?" She seemed to understand.

"They make them for older boys too?" Lloyd asked.

"Yes… we have a display of older boys things on the back wall, would you like to see them?" She pointed.

Walter said, "Let's take a look, Lloyd."

When they got to the back of the store they noticed a rack holding packages of diapers. Each one had picture of an older boy. This display interested Walter who stood looking at the different packages.

Lloyd spotted the 'onesy'. He was surprised to see they came in all sizes. While he thumbed through them he found several colors too.

The sales Lady explained that when an older boy wore diapers and wore one of these he could bend over and his diaper would not be in view.

"Gee, that's neat… isn't it Walter?" Lloyd held one up to see if it would fit him.

"Yeah, but I don't wear diapers!" He said loud enough for the sales lady to hear.

"I have a little boy that wears diapers… he's about your age." She meant Lloyds age.

Lloyd put the Onesy back and picked up another to check it's size.

"Does your little boy like wearing diapers?" He asked the lady.

"I think he does, he uses cloth diapers at night but wears disposables in the daytime. He wears a Onesy with shorts." She told. Then she asked, "How long have you been wearing diapers?"

Lloyd told her, "Since I been staying at my Aunts house." Then he suddenly realized what he said.

Lloyd got a little red in the face from embarrassment but she told him that lot of boys wear diapers and he not need to feel bad about it.

That made Lloyd feel better. But Walter still would not admit to be wearing diapers.

A recognized voice called out, "Lloyd, Walter what you boys doing in here? We've been looking for you." It was Aunt Betty.

"We… We were just looking." Lloyd answered.

"Good, then we can pick up some supplies for you while here." Aunt Betty began to look the diaper packages to see which ones to get. She handed a couple packages to each girl to carry.

Walter stood back and kept out of the way. Clara noticed that Lloyd had a onesy in his hand. "Mommy, lets buy Lloyd one of these." She held up for Aunt Betty to see.

"Yes, I think that would something he could use." Aunt Betty said.

The two girls were giggling as they walked through the store. They put several items in the shopping cart. Aunt Betty would not let them buy some items but others she agreed would be okay for Lloyd. The girls wanted to get some things so they could play like Lloyd was a baby when they were in the tree house.

Lloyd knew what the girls were up to but he said nothing about it. Secretly he was looking forward to the games the girls wanted to play.

Walter kept insisting he did not wear diapers therefore he would not need these things. But when no one was looking Walter would pick up and handle some of the items.

After paying for the big boy diapers and onesy's and the few baby items the girls slipped into the shopping cart the left the store.

"Let's all get a hamburger at the McDonald's before going home." Suggested by Aunt Betty.

All agreed.

While waiting for their food to be prepared the girls went to the restroom. Aunt Betty asked if the boys needed to use the restroom, too.

"No me!" said Lloyd. Aunt Betty understood why Lloyd may not need to go but wondered about Walter. But the older boy just ignored her suggestion.
