The Most Embarrassing Day Ever

Part 6

Oh my gosh, I feel absolutely horrible! I’m achy, I have a headache, my throat is sore, I can’t breathe through my nose, my stomach feels like I could puke any minute, I feel like I’m dying. I’m always a big baby when I get sick. I can tell I’m running a fever without even checking my temperature. I’m not going into work today, so I pick up my phone to call my boss. I figure I’ll just roll over and go back to sleep. Wait today is Tuesday, crap, it’s supposed to be date night with Travis. I know I’m going to have to cancel, the thing is do I tell him the whole truth or just half the truth. Sure, I wouldn’t mind being took care of, but one I don’t want him to see me like this, and two I don’t want to be doctored I just want to be held. I might as well go ahead and get this over with. I dial his number to his office. I keep thinking about what I’m going to tell him while it’s ringing. His receptionist answers the phone and puts me on hold. “This is Dr. Foster, How can I help you?” “Hey, Travis. It’s me Nicole.” “Damn babe, you sound horrible. Are you ok?” “Gee, thanks, that was very professional of you. I’ll be ok, I’m just afraid I won’t be able to go out tonight. I’m really sorry, I hope when I get to feeling better I can make it up to you.” “Don’t be sorry, babe, it’s fine. I just wish you weren’t sick. Do you want me to come over and take care of you?” “That’s really sweet of you, but I’ll be fine really. I’m just going to go back to sleep.” “Are you running a fever? Have you taken any medicine yet?” “I feel like I’m running a fever, but I haven’t actually took my temperature. I’m still laying in bed and I don’t feel like getting up right now. Besides I really don’t need you to ‘doctor’ me. I told you I’m fine. I’ve had colds before.” “Listen Nicole, I told you before I care about you, and your health is very important to me. I’ll ‘doctor’ you as much as I feel is needed. Now, since I’m not there I want you to go take your temperature, take some medicine, and then call me right back and tell me how high your fever is, ok.” “Fine.” Ok, honestly I really did have every intention of doing what he said, but as soon as I hung up the phone, I just wanted to rest my eyes for a few minutes first. The next thing I knew I jump awake when somebody touches my forehead. “Oh my God, Travis! What are you doing here? How did you get inside my house?” “Easy Darlin. I got worried when you never called me back. It’s been almost two hours since I got off the phone with you. That’s how long it took for me to clear my patients, after I had Rita call and cancel all my other appointments today. As for how I got in your house, you really need to come up with a more clever hiding place for your spare key besides under your welcome mat. Anybody could’ve broken in. Now, did you at least take some medicine before you fell back to sleep?” “No, I didn’t even make it out of bed.” “Well, now that I’m here you won’t have to worry about getting out of bed at all today. I’m here to take care of you.” He gives me one of his sweet smiles. I’m actually kind of glad he’s here. As long as he doesn’t go all doctor on me, that is. “Thank you. All I need is some medicine and maybe if it’s not too much to ask, maybe for you just to hold me a little.” “It’s not too much to ask at all. I’ll go get your medicine now. What exactly are your symptoms?” I go through the list of everything that I feel is wrong with me. “Ok, babe, I’ll be right back.” I hear him in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom down the hall, then I hear him go down the steps to the kitchen. He wasn’t gone too long before he comes back, and he has a medical bag and some other stuff with him. “Ok, darling, I’ve got some medicine from your medicine cabinet, we’ll see if it works. If not I’ve brought some other stuff with me. I’m going to need to take your temperature first so that way I’ll know if your medicine is working or not. I need you to turn on your tummy for me.” “You can’t be serious! I can hold the thermometer in my mouth just fine!” “Actually, Nicole you can’t. You can’t even breathe through your nose how are you supposed to hold a thermometer under your tongue? You couldn’t even do that when you were at my office before, remember?” “Look, I told you I don’t need a doctor, ok. Just give me my medicine and leave, I’m not letting you play doctor on me Travis!” “That’s too bad darling. I told you I take your health seriously. Now turn over.” “No!” “Nicole, quit acting like a baby. Don’t make me have to turn you over myself.” “If you do, that’s it, we’re finished, Travis. I mean it!” “Well fine then, break things off just because you’re acting like a baby. You’ve already had this done before and you know that it’s no big deal! If you don’t want to date me anymore after this, then that’s your choice. But you are going to get your temperature taken one way or another. I told you Nicole I’m your doctor before I am anything else. Now I’m only going to give you one more chance to do this the easy way, and get it over with.” We just stare at each other, both of us breathing hard from being so upset. Damn it, I don’t want to lose him! Why does he have to do this? I’m going to have this done either way, so he says, and I really think he means it. I know it’s no big deal, he’s done a lot worse things to me, but I’m sick and I really don’t want anything up my bottom. “What’s it going to be Nicole?” I just look at him, and tears start to gather in my eyes and my face turns red. “I don’t want to lose you Travis, I didn’t mean what I said, I don’t want you to leave. I just don’t want my temperature taken that way.” “I know you don’t babe, but it’s the only way.” I take a deep breath and roll over on my stomach. I feel him lift up my night gown, and then I feel the cold air as he pulls down my panties. He opens a jar of Vaseline, and lubes up the thermometer. I feel him spread my cheeks apart, and feel the thermometer go in. It feels really weird and I’m already ready for him to take it out. “Are you doing ok Nicole?” “Yeah, I guess. Travis?” “Yeah, babe?” I feel like I’m fixing to start crying. I’m always emotional when I’m sick. “I’m really sorry about earlier. I don’t want you to leave, and I still want to go out with you again when I’m feeling better. Please don’t be mad at me. I just hate being sick, and I tend to act like a baby when I don’t feel good.” “Yeah, I can kind of tell. It’s ok, babe, I forgive you. I’m not going anywhere. I promise.” A few minutes later I feel him take out the thermometer. “101.5, You are definitely sick. I don’t know if your medicine is going to quite cut it, but we’ll try it and see.” “What kind of medicine do you have?” “I have several different kinds. It just depends on how you feel in an hour, what kind I’ll give you.” He hands me a couple of pills and some water. I take my medicine and hand him back the glass of water. I’m so sick and sleepy. I just bury myself even farther down in the cover. He brushes my hair out of my face, and kisses me on the forehead. “Try to get some sleep darling. I’m going to go make you some soup, and then I’ll check your temp again.” I don’t even feel like talking so I just nod my head. As I’m drifting off to sleep I hear him leave my room and shut the door behind him. I wake up about an hour and a half later when he brings my soup to me. “Are you feeling any better babe?” “No, not at all, I think I might even feel worse.” “Can you try to sit up for me? You might feel a little better after you eat.” I’m so weak that he has to help me sit up. He props a couple of pillows behind my back to make me more comfortable. He grabs the bowl of soup and actually starts feeding it to me. He seriously has to be the sweetest guy I know. I try to eat as much as could, but I really didn’t feel like eating. After three bites I was done. I figured before I went back to sleep I better go ahead and go pee. “Woah, what are you doing?” “I’ve got to go pee.” “Alright, let me help you. You’re really weak and I don’t need you passing out or falling down.” He helps me out of bed and to the bathroom. When I get to the door I tell him, “Ok, that’s good enough. I’ve got it from here.” He doesn’t let me go, he just keeps helping me to the toilet. When we get there he actually lifts up my gown and pulls my panties down. “What are you doing, Travis? I can pee by myself.” “I’m just helping you darling.” He then helps me sit down on the toilet. I figured he’d at least leave, but he’s just standing there, waiting. “I can’t go with you standing there. I’m not going to fall off the toilet or anything. I can’t go with you watching.” “Fine, I’ll turn around.” “Please Travis this is already embarrassing enough.” “There’s no reason for you to be embarrassed. Everybody pees, it’s just part of life.” “whether there’s a reason or not, I still am. Can you at least just wait outside the door?” “Ok, but I’m leaving the door open in case you need me. Holler at me when you’re done, so I can make sure you don’t fall.” I figured that’s a pretty good compromise, so I agree to it. After he walks out I then start peeing. I’m so embarrassed! I know he can hear me. When I’m finished, I decide to just stand up and pull up my panties, then I’ll tell him I’m finished. That will at least save me some embarrassment. As soon as I stand up though, my head starts spinning and I can feel my stomach turn over. I’m definitely going to be sick! I try to sit in the floor at the toilet, but I lose my balance and knock something over. Next thing I know Travis is running to me, trying to help hold my head over the toilet, and holding my hair back, while I get sick. “Easy babe, it’s ok. I’ve got you. This is why I didn’t want you to get up on your own.” “I really don’t want to hear it. I feel horrible. Can’t you just leave? This is humiliating!” It really was. Not only am I puking in front of the guy I really like, but I didn’t even have time to pull my undies back up, so I’m sure my butt is on full display. “I’m not going anywhere. Are you finished throwing up?” “I am for a minute I think.” He hands me some toilet paper to clean up with. “I’m going to get you a cold wet washrag.” He gets up and starts running the washrag under the water. He comes back and wipes down my forehead, and lays the rag against my neck. It feels so good. “I’ll be right back, stay right here.” A few minutes later he walks in carrying his doctor bag. Oh no, Now what is he going to do to me?
