Diaper Beebe
Chapter 4 - DESTINATION REACHED
"The dumb machine does not spit paper out the right end with getting
hung up who knows where, sometimes I can't even find the copy." The man
at the desk seemed desperate. Paper work piled high on the corner of the
desk had piled up for the last two days.
He stood up and extended his hand to Mr. Beebe, welcoming him to the
office.
"As you can see we need help. We have four machines and they all went
done the same time, what else can go wrong?"
"By the way, my name is Paul Norton I'm the head of this department."
Bob and Paul shook hands.
It was at that moment Paul looked over at Gary who was sitting on the
big chair with his legs sticking straight out in front of him kicking
wildly.
"What a cute little boy, is he yours?"
Bob introduced him his son. "Yes he is mine. You're right, he is cute,
one of my best friends!"
Gary, upon hearing those words from his daddy began to puff up with
pride. "My daddy thinks I am cute," he let these words run through his
mind.
Paul moved over to the child to shake his hand. Paul hung onto his
little hand longer then Gary thought he should have this made him pull
has hand back to his side. But when the older man patted him on the
head, messing up his uncombed hair, that was too much.
Gary pulled his head away and began to brush his hair back into place
with his own hands. Both men laughed.
"You got the most delightful smile," Paul still complimenting the boy.
Turning back to Bob, Paul said, "I have a little boy about his size, his
name is Jamie he is 12 years old, quite small for his age. Then I have
another son Jimmy, Jimmy is 9 years old.
Beebe got busy on the downed copier which needed a complete go-through,
what ever could go wrong, did. Toner has spilled, paper jammed in the
rollers, wow.
Mr. Norton seemed to be a very friendly person. Both men talked about
this and that. Then talked about their families. Paul had a picture on
his desk showing his wife and two boys. "You have a nice looking family"
Bob remarked as he held the picture in his hands.
It was getting near lunch time so Paul suggested that the three of them
go out to eat together.
There conversation turned to Paul's two boys. It seems Paul was
concerned by Jamie's small size, he looked no older then his brother at
9. "At 12 he should be taller and more filled out." Paul frowned a bit.
"I bet he will catch up to his peers before too long. He may start
puberty after he is 13, I don't think you have much to be worried
about". Paul tried to help the concerned man.
