Injections during sleepover
Ankita had been my friend for a long time. We had been friends for about a month when Ankita suddenly fell forward. I caught her fall.
A nail, sticking out from her shoe.
“Ouch, looks painful,” I said, and helped her to her feet again.
Work was just a few hours away, and (we were doing the night shift) there was no time to visit a doctor.
I did the first thing that anybody could have done in that position.
“Anki, let me give you a tetanus jab myself,” I said.
“You’re in sleeveless so it will be quite easy.”
Ankita brightened up, agreeing that it was a very good idea.
I held her shoulder firmly at an angle and cleaned her left shoulder with a spirit soaked cotton wool.
When I jabbed the needle into her deltoid, she froze for a bit, her face screwed up in pain.
“Ahhh!” she said.
I giggled.
“Didn’t hurt that bad, right?” I said as I applied a bandaid.
Rubbing her injection spot, Ankita made haste towards the car. We were going to work together. It was a nice end to a sleepover.
