I use to love looking at vintage diaper, and baby pants ads. I loved to get hold of anything, with ads for diapers and baby pants in it. Anyone else, remember the thrill of looking through magazines and catalogs like, Sears Roebuck, J C Penny's, Wards, etc. I can remember looking through magazines, and seeing lots of Gerber plastic panty ads. I think I still have a Life magazine from the mid 60's, that had a picture of a dad holding his leg out, so the baby wearing only a t shirt and Gerber plastic panties, could bounce on his foot/ankle. I looked at that, many times when I was young. I loved how the plastic panties ballooned out from the leg holes, and wait. When I had nothing to do while visit my aunt, I would go through the Sears catalogs she kept, so I could see all the plastic panties in them. Sometimes, you could catch a TV ad for laundry soap too, and they would have cloth diapers as the subject. But, usually no plastic baby pants seen there. This of course, being before disposables got to be popular. I like the print ads more, because you could find the plastic panties there.
I have posted a few pictures in the galleries, under the title, VINTAGE DIAPER/BABY PANTS ADS. It's in the Diapers, and Clothes heading, or. http://www.zity.biz/index.php?mx=gallery;ox=showalbum;ax=7488
I will try and add to that when I can. It's mostly, of vintage Sears catalogs right now.
