Yes, I KNOW they aren't really pacifiers, but does anyone else watch college football and see mouthguards being sucked even off the field? Some of them remind me greatly of pacifiers, the ones with a large, domed, oval shields.
Has anyone else seen them and thought of pacifiers? I think of them in that light especially when the players don't spit them out between plays or when they're standing on the sidelines. My pacifiers are in almost constant use, at home and when driving. It's hard to use them at work, though...(GRIN)
I recently tried the new silicone "NUK 6" size pacifiers. I prefer the nipple size of them, as they stay in my sleeping mouth, even better than the "offficial" "NUK 5" style. However, they have a significant mold line when new, a sharp feeling raised ridge/line that runs the entire outline of the nipple.
I discovered that using an emery board, normally used for smoothing fingernails, works very, very well to eliminate the ridge. It takes a good many minutes working on each nipple to get rid of it, but after that modification I'm extremely happy with the results! If you've had the same experience, try sanding the ridge with an emery board. I find the medium grit ones work best for this purpose. Let me know how it works for you!
