@Willene - I have the very first edition (No1) of the Australian Womens Weekly (for real). .Left by my mother, it's packed away somewhere wrapped in plastic. .Published long before Ita Buttrose turned it into an icon as was/is she
It just occurred to me when I'd written this that Ita's surname has another connotation. .Let alone Kerry P was bonking her. .Just like her it "Rose" to the occasion. .just think of what the "P" represents too. .Now ya gotta wonder did "Women's Weekly" stack up. .LOL
Bet you "Get It" . .She did. 😁 😁 😁
.
OK then, for those that don't see the humorous twist i'll spell it out
1) Australian Women's Weekly magazine is to Australian women an Icon. .recognizable anywhere in the country
2) I-ta Butt-rose (her real name) was appointed by one of our countries most influential TV network owners & Publishers to steer the Womens Weekly in new directions & increase circulation as Editor In Chief. . .Did that hands down from what we know. .i hope her knees didn't suffer
3) Ita as it was exposed had a long running tempestuous relationship with her employer . .She was on the ball though (his) & usually got her way. .she knew how to pull it off
NOW :
A) Ita's surname being Butt-rose & her employers surname is a very good fit . . .magazine PACKER cums to mind. . .yeah ! yeah ! i know it's loaded with puns
B) He being her "secret" lover was impressed (regularly) with the circulation . .it expanded & grew. .there was only one way to go with him & that was up. . .hahaha
C) Australian (yes, she is) Womens (for sure) Weekly,Took it's place ! . As did Ita. .quite frequently !!
And so the foundations were LAID. .Ita was on the up n up. .Kerry saw to it
.
So there ya have it. .It Stacks up . .just like the Publishing Group. .for which they were inextricably entwined
