Be careful. This could happen to you

If you are alive, there is always risk in everything you do or don't do.

It is called life and risk is ubiquitously present.

That has happened to a few people here.

From enemas, or other ass play?

Unless someone is using a big double-balloon nozzle and WAY excess pressure, or a VERY weird solution, I can't imagine what could happen to require a colostomy...

Mostly colon tubes as I recall.

One was from extreme volume several years ago here.

Azdiane's hubby punctured a diverticula using a colon tube by himself. He had a colostomy for over a year before the repair was healed.

I would like to add, or rather 'clarify' that I hadn't been forcing more water and/or playing with a rectal catheter (36 F.) and didn't vary from my 2 qts at a time. When part of my sigmoid was removed, my surgeon said that there was a lot of diverticula's that looked like they could fail also. This led me to believe that I wasn't necessarily to blame, but that it could happen at any time.

This is why I've officially retired my colon tube and will rarely do more than a quart or so at a time, usually delivered by bulb syringe, less often by bag.

Also, having tried it unsuccessfully, fisting is now on my "no" list, although I know there are others here who love it and have had no issues. I had a female Domme doing it to me but she stopped at the fourth knuckle, wisely, because she feared I would tear down there. Worth a try, but we stepped back from the precipice of what could have been a complete disaster. Thanks Mistress M!

Thank you for posting this, it definitely is something to think about...

Makes me cringe just thinking about it. I have used a colon tube many times with no problems but rule #1 is to never force it. Just go slow and if it stops going in don't force it. A few inches at a time while twisting the hose will usually get it all the way in with no problems.. Stay safe people

I know that as we age we must be careful of doing things that were ok when we were younger and could be harmful now please keep that in mind

I have tried some silly things in the past but now I am no longer interested in pushing my limits. I used to have a couple of 1.5 inch nozzles/toys but no more. 1.25 inch is the limit now (yes that silly .25 inch makes a big difference. Also I no longer try for larger and larger fills. IF my insides are happy accepting a couple of quarts then I am very pleased, but it doesn't happen often. I am running on the idea of being grateful for what ever I get.

This is good advice that everyone should be reminded of. Please be very careful.

I was recently hospitalized and had surgery for a small intestine obstruction. I had about 48 hours to think about a colostomy and anticipate how it would change my life. Fortunately, the surgeon was able to relieve the blockage without resectioning my intestine. My recovery was swift and uncomplicated.

This experience made me reevaluate my enema use and eliminate colon tubes from my play. Be safe!

Open Top, vintage enema with standard, vintage black base-ball bat shaped enema nozzle only for me. My bare bottom never likes anything large inserted into it. I still manage an un-forced 3 quart soapy enema (gravity fed only) and what was good enough for mom and grandma continues to be good enough for me. ….michael https://en.zity.biz/gallery/image/16551

Thanks for the info we all do appreciate it

This is an old thread, but still viable and important to note. A colostomy is no fun, nor is a perforated bowel. Mine was due to diverticuli, they tell me, so I wasn't part of the "shove this giant hose all the way" brigade, but still...

Most of these posts are a testament to how you can enjoy a good enema without resorting to extreme measures. I tried a colon tube just once and decided that it just wasn't for me. Otherwise I've been taking simple, safe, and fun enemas for over 40 years.

A perforated colon is the # 1 reason to never have a colonoscopy under general anesthesia , they can easily perforate the colon before they even realize it , and doing them awake you will well know before hand and the doctor will know about , anyway play safe and to be honest i am amazed i have not ended up in ER due to crazy extreme anal play trying to shove a Smart Car up my bum bum and extreme anal play is very addicting as we all know

Kudos to you, for posting this extremely important topic, regarding enema play...during my near Half-Century of EMS work. Although it may seem somewhat funny at first, it's no picnic when you get too wrapped up in the Pleasures of an enema session, not giving any thoughts to the possible consequences of playing in a careless manner. This not only applies to the rectal area...it often occurs when people, especially males, get too carried away with the 'sounding' of their urethra. Sometimes they will use very crude implements, such as the refill of a ballpoint pen, or worse. Everyone, it's important that we take this very seriously, and NEVER become complacent. Shit Happens, whenever we become Overly Confident. Not to brag, but I could 'Write a Book' on the crazy experiences I've encountered, during my EMS career. And it's given me something to think about, since I often do this type of thing, as well. Just like Clint Eastwood said in the movie: (I'm paraphrasing: "...man must know his limitations!) And that line is so true. Safe play out there!⚘

For the most part, I rather like reading the posts on this site and being a contributor based on my experience with enemas. However, sometimes what I’m reading scares me when people are using enemas and doing potentially dangerous things to their body.

Not all enemas are made in heaven. I’ve been doing them what I believe is sensibly for nearly 40 years, but on rare occasions I’ll have a bad one. It reminds me that the enema is an invasive procedure, and my body does not always react favorably.

Yes, so true; I believe my fooling around taking two full bags at one time contributed to my now having a large inguinal hernia. (Repair too tricky thanks to other problems.)

Please don’t use air compressors either for kicks! 5 seconds of 180 psi can blow your insides apart..

Danger lurks around every corner. The sky is falling!

I don't care to do the research, but I'm quite sure you're far more likely to DIE in a car wreck than to get an ostomy from an enema.

And an ostomy isn't the end of the world.

That is quite a leap - from a cautionary post to the end of the world. Which, by the way, was the end of a family friend who had one and committed suicide because the process of using the bag was more than she cared to put up with. So, yes, an ostomy can be the end of the world. Not that everyone who ends up in that situation will take their own life, but the satement is patently untrue.

Not doing the research is just another way to claim unearned entitlement.

Just becuase the process is a witch hunt does not mean there are no witches.

Concerning the volume, not the frequency, you should take enemas in moderation too.

I had a friend that was using an electric egg vibrator and got hurt with it really bad. His girlfriend stuck it up his rear end and then gave him an enema with it on . The device shorted out and burned the inside of his colon. He went into the emergency room, and they had to do an ostomy with a bag in an emergency surgery. They had to remove part of his colon.

So don’t use vibrators and enemas at the same time.

Like everything use common sense, go slow and enjoy the ride.

Yep, a guy died of this years ago around here. There were 3 guys in a big factory, it was said the 2 were pranking the 3rd guy that passed out drunk on his lunch break by inserting the hose and gave him a blast. He didn't make it, he was all torn up the very first moment they let the air blast, it's like shooting a projectile up inside.

I see a great many comments about air, solutions and nozzles but not many about volume. I am curious to know if four or more quarts are dangerous? I normally take two to two-and-a-half quarts and only once took four, and that was with a double balloon nozzle to keep from having to clench up to hold it. Are there any studies about enema volumes that are safe and not safe? I would like some information from anyone with knowledge of safe and unsafe volumes. Thanks to all who read this. Stay well. Don
