Do you get your penis size from your father?

I've seen both my father and brother naked, both of whom have a larger package than I do. Perhaps I was switched at birth?

Like many things, it is genetic and can come from both sides of the family. While some people have great genes, some people like myself are stuck with handmedowns.

I have to wonder if genital genetics are on the X or Y chromosome (or elsewhere).

It's sort of obvious that the differentiation of the genitals are directly or indirectly (hormones) based on the X and Y chromosomes. It's also logical that the genital size isn't Y based (both women and men have variations) but may be X based - or somewhere else in the genome.

Also, weight loss motivation: the penis gets longer the more fat you lose. Not only as an optical illusion, but the end of the shaft withdraws a bit, might end up with 7 inches once I hit my goal! Also from what I can tell when it comes to sex girth>length.

I doubt the girth will change, but the base of the penis won't be embedded in so much fat, so it may have a longer "useful" length.

I must have gotten my penis size from my mother. My father had a BIG ol' dick! Sometime after I was grown, I read that guys often have an unrealistic impression of their father's penis size, based on having compared their own undeveloped genitalia, when they were young, to their father's mature organs. That struck me as logical and I figured that was the case with me. NOT! I happened to see my father's penis later in life, when he was in the hospital, and was amazed at his size.

My dad had a larger than average penis but I am really small. My uncle-mother's brother is also small so I guess I get it from her side of the family. My cousins were a mix, two had average size penises and one was small like me. We were nudists so I got make comparisons.

I assume so. We are both 'growers' (not 'showers') as far as that goes. I didn't ever see my dad's erect penis directly, just once or twice when I thought his pants were 'tented'. BTW, I don't feel I missed out on something important.

When I was young, sometimes during the hot summer days, I was just în my birth suit while I was playing or runing around in the backyard. This was happened while I was at my grandmother house în the countryside. Once, without to know that we had guests, I was passing from the backyard to kitchen where my grandmother was talking with one of her frinds who was also a older lady. I was teribly embarassed and I covered my front using my hands while I wanted to turn back în the backyard. The funny part is that both ladyes started to laugh and my grandmother commented something like "he is the same like his father when he was like him" (when we were both on 10) - and her friend sayd something like "oh yes, even the same package"... so, I resume that I'm just the same like my natural father 😃

Very fortunate to have had a very well endowed father ,think it may have been our German heritage was always happy to to drop trou in the locker room and put my package in a jock strap and know other guys were checking me out ! Only regret was the decision of my mother to say “cut “ wish she would have left that up to me to decide ! I've never actually compared but my father and I are both above average in size. My dad is over 60 now and he heard that it starts shrinking when you get older but he also jokes that that hasn't happened to him yet.

My father is above "the average" when referencing penis length. Although my penis is longer and thicker than my father's, his testicles are larger than mine. His large gonads hang really low in his scrotum ... my balls and sac hang much closer to my body. My body and pubic hair distribution is more dense than his although we have a very similar covering. The biggest contrast between the two of us is that my father is uncut.

I think we might be similar, though I've never seen him erect. Of course there are other male family members who I have never seen at all so I have no idea if I'd be closer to them.

I've never seen my father or my younger brother erect, but flaccid I'm the same or slightly bigger than my dad. My brother is considerably smaller than me.

I am not sure, never saw my fathers. But if he is as small as me i doubt i would be around

Of course it's genetic. While I do know that big gonads do run in the family ( we got balls instead of brains) I'm not sure about the penis. While I had to help care for my father in his later years I went out of my way to NOT look at his package. Some things need to stay a mystery.

Yes, it is primarily genetic. Look at it this way - guys being guys, if it had a significant environmental component then how many studies do you think you would see working out the optimal combination of whatever is needed for the largest male genitalia? 😜

I imagine this question was answered in the Human Genome Project that ran from 1990 to 2003.

The genes to give you a penis are from your father. The genes controlling its size are mixed from both parents.

From memory, I would take a guess that my dad whom I saw naked numerous times (non-erect) pretty young, was average. I am average and so no difference.
