What do you mean by "VS?"
Sounds like you need to spend some time with a dictionary and maybe a thesaurus!!
There IS a difference between purging and simply emptying the lower bowel.
Purging is much more thorough, and is fairly quick!
While cramping is necessary for a really effective enema, when you take it up a level to purging, there is no avoiding fairly strong cramping! It's part of the process.
Soooo there is no "contest" between purging and cramping. VS Abbreviation of "Versus" suggests a contest!. Which doesn't exist in this case. Cramping is an effect of purging. If you want to say it's a "side effect" some of us, including myself would differ in our thoughts, butr others may feel that way.
I see cramping as a necessary evil in any enema, and repeated strong cramping as just part of what happens when you elevate it to a purge.
When I DO purge, I accept considerable cramping as part of the process.
