I have never used any toys before. So as a newbie, what are some good suggestions?

I think there are two aspects for anal play in men or two areas of stimulation: anus and prostate.

The anus provides a huge amount of stimulation when it is penetrated with any toy but you do have to careful with the girth and what you can comfortably take. If you are beginner you should probably start with toys that are no more than a inch in diameter and then work you way up from there. Sliding a toy in and out of your anus is a huge turn on and can really enhance masturbation or sex. A good starting place is to search for toys that include butt plugs, anal beads and dildos.

Stimulating the prostate is another gold mine of pleasure. You have to be able to reach it and experiment with how to stimulate it. Some guys can do it with their own fingers but it is best stimulated by someone else fingering your ass/prostate or you using a toy specifically designed to stimulate the prostate. There are lots of prostate toys out on the market from relatively low cost to expensive. Maybe start with a low cost toy in order to experiment and see how you like it before moving up to the more expensive toys.

Finally, there is one other consideration and that is depth of penetration. You can have lots of stimulation by just stimulating the anus and prostate and all that can be achieved by venturing no further up than your rectum. It is always recommended to at least have a BM before starting anal play to make things clean. Doing enemas can clean your rectum even more and allows you focus on anal play without worrying about any poop spoiling the party.
