Regarding inappropriate nudist behavior, this is a story I heard second hand, well, third hand actually. It was told to me in great detail because the teller knows I have an interest in nudity. I'm not a nudist myself; my erotic fascination with nudity concerns the aspects of vulnerability and embarrassment (and for good personal reason). But anyway, I'm curious to hear what nudists might think of this woman's behavior.
The woman's name was Lenore, and I'm told she was reasonably good looking, and was in her early middle age by this time. These events happened in about the mid 1970's BTW. She and her husband didn't tell their kids about their nudist lifestyle; the kids would just be left in the care of aunts & uncles and were told Mom & Dad were going on one of their vacations during the few times a year that they would visit their nudist resort.
Apparently, if you knew them you would be surprised to learn they were nudists, especially considering the times back then. They were both very respectable (not saying nudists aren't) and Lenore was very formal and elegant.
She wore jewelry and makeup much of the time when nude, and some people found this rather ostentatious, but then again, Lenore was apparently ostentatious.
Whatever she was doing at the resort, whether just standing talking to you or sunbathing or entering a room, she often gave the impression of posing.
She would often warmly compliment people on their bodies, and many of the nudists seemed to think this was breaking an unspoken rule. Remember, this was a "naturist" nudist scene, not an "hedonistic" nudist scene, and you weren't supposed to go there to be looked at and admired.
If she was introducing herself, or was being introduced, she would make a flourishing gesture with her arms as if to convey This is me in the nude, take a good look. Sometimes even turning in place to show all of her. Not in a vulgar way, it was emphasized to me, but in a cordial, actually rather formal way.
No one seems to have had a problem with her husband, he was apparently a real easy-going sort who possibly may have found Lenore's behavior amusing. As it was explained to me, in Lenore's defense she did not seem to be purposely trying to be provocative. She just did not associate nudity with naturalness the way that a true nudist would. For her, the enjoyment of being a nudist seemed to be the novelty of it all. Sharing something that is supposed to be very private with like-minded people. She seemed genuinely unaware that not all nudists felt this way.
Finally some people decided that she should be made aware that she was making herself appear silly and was making some people uncomfortable. A couple who were quite active and well-respected in that scene were asked to have a little talk with her and her husband. They didn't reveal all that was said, except that they finally made Lenore get the idea, and Lenore agreed to "tone her act down", which she did.
I would liked to have met Lenore and discuss certain things with her. She seemed to have been an interesting person.
