I said I'd post again on the diapers to doctors. Well, a couple months ago I had my bi yearly checkup. Part of that is my digital. UGH. I have bph causing oab so I need to expect the fickle finger of fate.
What was a shock was the doctor decided to refer the checkup to his nurse practitioner. A cute young lady. I was wholly unexpecting this. The thought that I was going to expose my bottom wearing plastic pants with pull on cloth training pants made me freak out more than a little. Anyways I realized that coming to the doctor presented a real risk of arriving or returning home wet. So I resolved to just let things happen. To make matters worse was the fact that when opposite sexes are having procedures requiring genital exposure, a witness must be present. WTF??? lol... So in comes another woman!! Oh God! Well, I figured that the only thing worse was if they marched in a brass band and I made it this far.
So the big exposure time arrived and I dropped my drawers. I left my pants, plastic pants and trainers around my ankles and bent over for the big event. I was so freaked out that everything got sort of blurry and I tried my best to just take the mindset of nah nah nah this ain't happening. It was over before it started and was handed the box of tissues to clean up the KY jelly mess. Humiliating? You bet!
The N.P. returned the edict of "your prostate is pretty big". After questioning her further she basically stated it was up there with the "big ones" she's seen. We joked a bit in an attempt to relieve a situation that was as uncomfortable for her as it was for me. Anyways her only reply that even came close to a mention of my outfit was " if you decide to pursue this problem further let us know". There was no judgement whatsoever and she went so far as have me set up another appointment with her in six months.
The thing to remember is I have NO desire to share my DL thing with anyone and really wish I didn't feel I needed protection to visit the doctor. As it turned out I didn't make it home dry. It's a 45min. drive home and it was more than I could handle.
So, I guess anyone going to the doctor doesn't have much to worry about as long as there's a good reason for being diapered. We are basically machines. A valve that is leaky comes as no surprise to the professionals that deal with us. Especially if it's old (60yrs+).
