I would suppose that infrequent use will do more towards desensitizing. Sort of like with male masturbation. If you refrain for a long period, a penis doesn't get more and more sensitive. It will probably ‘unlearn’ certain reactions.

I don't, never have. I have two reasons for it. One,I assumed any touching in that area hurt due to abuse. Two, as I got older it seemed like cheating, but i have slave wiring apparently. It's hard to explain, but my mind isnt normal, a dozen shrinks have tried to figure me out.

Yeah, it feels like an indulgence. Don't get me wrong I love sex and have a great sex life but sex and masturbation are two different things for me, it feels like I need both. And its nice to mix them up too, I like often think I will play with myself without finishing before my husband gets home but its hard to resist going all the way when it feels so good.

They have no interest in experiencing sexual pleasure alone or with a partner, nor in giving sexual pleasure. They do not find attractive people sexually arousing. They don't respond to graphic sexual fiction, video, or images. They have literally no interest in sex. I know, it's hard to imagine, but there they are.

They have not been traumatized, are not mentally ill, have no brain damage, none of that. It's just who they are.

I know two asexual people and they're both perfectly ordinary in every other way. They are single and do not date, because surprise, they know everyone else wants sex eventually.

From your description, I think that my wife of 40+ years may have asexual tendencies. She has never had an orgasm with me or prior boyfriends. When we brought this up years ago with her gyn, he suggested a book on getting in touch with her body. She bought it but never, that I know of, tried any of the techniques involving touching herself. She agrees to have sex about once a week with me but I know she doesn't enjoy it. She DOES enjoy the time before and after when we cuddle and I rub her body. In fact she told me that the only reason she had sex her very first time was for the closeness she felt with him.

Asexual people can and do feel emotional bonds, so that closeness might be all she can get. For her to agree to weekly sex suggests she wants your happiness--can't ask for more than that, really. IMO, wanting the other person's happiness and well-being as much as you want your own is a decent description of love.
