The only time the bladder needs to be 'flushed', or irrigated, is when medically necessary...clots, debris, prostate 'chips' after surgery. The bladder doesnt like clots... so after u are TURP'd, then continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) is needed, until clear. Putting caustics into the bladder is absolutely nutz. BCG injections were used in the past for bladder cancers, but for the life of me, why anyone would put a half tsp of baking soda mixed with whatever (and a chaser!) into a sterile bladder environment is absolutely crazy. Oh well... gotta keep the ER volume up, and this is a great way to keep the waiting room full and the urologists busy!
There used to be an older guy on here from many years ago (maybe from the UK?) who was heavy duty into bizarre, extreme enemas, using the excuse "for my health". Granted, the UK is more open to large bowel irrigations and bowel health than us gringos here stateside, but he was way off the deep end. Alcohol, wine, and other unusual caustic liquids and concoctions instilled up his colon. The colonic mucosa was not created for that type of punishment. Maybe he used it to get 'drunk' without drinking, as it can absorb tremendous amounts!!! (that's like denying I am an alcoholic, because I dont drink !!!). Anyway, years ago, I think he suddenly stopped posting here... probably was his last fire hydrant enema laced with pinot noir, and was his biggest, the best , and THE LAST. Probably had what was called a colonic perforation, then sepsis, then death. What an idiot. And when his methods were questioned by others, he became irate, belittling everyone in his unfortunate path. Oh well. He truly ended up where the sun dont shine!
