Double balloon rectal catheters

So, my question is, for how long have we had these double balloon nozzles? How much have they changed over the years? I have seen references to them from stories set in the 50s, but don't know how much direct knowledge the authors had or what kind of research they did.

Myself I'm what you might call enema curious, I have never had one but they intrigue me especially as I have a definite rubber fetish. Anyway I've become intensely curious about these things, also I'm writing a story and want it to be as accurate as possible. Any help appreciated, and I hope this might turn into a good discussion/memory share.

Daniel, you gotta jump into the pool and test the waters. Try one pint first, then double it with whatever equipment you can get. Leave out the soap or anything else, until you get used to warm water first. I hope you go from "curious" to a real klysmo. We have lots of fun here and have some great members and moderators.

Thanks for the advice Jimmy, for reasons it would take too long to explain I think my enemas are going to remain in my imagination for some time to come. Still with the research I'm doing right now when I do get my first I'll know plenty about them. I'm amazed at what was used in the glory days of the procedure. I've been reading stories on here for years and now I'm enjoying the forum too.

Daniel, as far back as I can remember, the legendary "balloon nozzle" was the sought after device of every enema enthusiast. I'm not going to even mention the name of the company everyone knew these as, because their attorneys were contacting anyone who used the name and sending a cease and desist letter. These were very hard to come by unless you had a friend at a hospital or surgical supply house. In the late '60s I came across an ad by the Arthur Hamilton Co. in the Los Angeles Free Press. Back in the day, you had to be a super sleuth to find the good stuff. They sent me a mimeographed flyer that was the holy grail for me. I mail ordered rectal and colon tubes, a balloon nozzle, an assortment of barium enema nozzles (still have much of this stuff today), and just about everything else they had. You kids have it so easy. Just google it, order on amazon prime, and have it the next day. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

Thanks for the info, I think I know the company you're talking about, it's strange to me that they wouldn't want to be associated with their own product, or perhaps everyone thought they made them and they didn't, confused.com. That's interesting about how hard they were to obtain, I've seen tonnes of posts about how you don't see enema equipment so much, yet a search online yields tonnes of results. Of course these results are generally from sites in the fetish line rather than the serious medical line, but I have seen quite a bit of gear on Amazon. Though the balloon nozzles, particularly the double ones are crazily expensive. I've been confused in the past between these and Folley catheters, but these of course are urinary and apparently were invented in around 1930 something. Strange to hear the name Folley associated with something medical for me, one of my hobbies is sound design and we have Folley sound effects and so when I hear the name I think of sounds.
