Does the instrument dictate positioning?

What I mean here is that while I enjoy images of glass thermometers inserted with the patient prone or in Sim's, when it comes to electronic probes I'd really like to see it done with the patient standing or bending over. Given that electronics register faster it seems practical to use those positions. But while it's laudable that Stonefox, for one, has done some bend over temps in recent vids, he always uses glass, never electronic. & given that his patients are all clearly adults I wish he'd use Sim's rather than prone.

Just a few quirks to put out....

I don't think the digital thermometers have the same feel as the old fashioned glass type, and they don't go in as far either. In both cases it is imperative to use a position which does not cause the thermometer to move about inside the rectum. It can do an inordinate amount of damage if it does.
