If you are considering getting a genital piercing, please look at the website H C posted (https://www.piercingbible.com/female-genital-piercings), and maybe even watch the documentary about the piercer who wrote the Piercing Bible. I found both interesting and informative.
All piercings are very personal, and therefore no one should try to convince someone to get one or to dissuade someone from getting one (unless it's medically unsafe). Also, the pain and possibility of infection are influenced by both the person getting the piercing as well as the piercer. (When I got my tongue pierced, my friend did too; I experienced very little pain during the procedure while my friend did, and she had no problems during the healing phase, but my tongue swelled up so much that I almost had to have it taken out. No, I don't have it anymore - I took it out one day, as I had in the past with no problem, and it closed within 15 minutes. And, no, it didn't make oral sex better for my partner, or so he said.)
I have been interested in the past in getting my inner labia pierced because I think it might be entertaining for me and my partner (both in terms of looks and D/s activities), and I have also thought about getting a fourchette because it is unusual as many women don't have the right anatomy to do it - but I do - and the jewelry might be stimulating for my partner. In both cases, they can't be seen if I don't want them to be (which is what I also like about my two tattoos), and I could probably fix any holes or scarring if either of those occurred because I decided I didn't like them and removed them. But I haven't had the best luck healing after my last two surgeries, so I'm putting it off for now.
If you are considering getting a piercing of any kind, take the time to examine why you want it and what you think it will do for you before you get it. Then pick a certified/licensed piercer who has been recommended for the specific piercing you want, check out former work in his/her portfolio, and see how they sterilize their equipment and otherwise follow all the regulations of the state that piercer is in.
Good luck!
