Putting something in the urethra takes a learning curve. One must consider cleanliness and sterility, anatomy, design of the object inserted, and adapt the technique to all 3 considerations.
Firstly I want every thing to be as sterile as I can get it. Many people seem to get away with being just very clean inserting things in the urethra. Not me. At a minimum I cook metal things in the oven, pressure cook rubber, and use benzalkonium chloride on plastic. I use sterile gloves, or sterilized hemostats (get at Harbor Freight) to touch things. I wear Foley catheters: I buy them new, cheap, for under 2 dollars. The kits for insertion are under 3 dollars. So I have safe fun, for less than the price of a movie.
Anatomy: Look at a side view of male anatomy; the five inches of your penis is what’s in front. There is a fixed three inches horizontal, a 4 inch radius curve and an inch an a half vertically into the bladder. The last bit is where the prostate is located, and many people get the buzz.
Technique & Instrument: All the vibrating sounds I see are straight. I don’t think yours will go in very far, with a 5 inch soft penis. You can try the 24 Fr. Sound, but a 20-22 might have been easier for beginner. I used a 24 Fr catheter the first time, and had little trouble. A 26 hurts and no way 28 . They don’t look long enough to go in the bladder. If you just stick it in as far as it’ll go, without trying to make the bend, it’ll be easy. Be sure and use sterile lube. Urologists routinely put in straight instrument into the bladder. The way to do it is: Hold penis until it’s at right angle to the body; the urethra is now in a straight line with the part behind. Insert the instrument until it comes to the bend. Now lower the part sticking out of the penis down/back toward the anus. If one looks at a side view of the anatomy, or a drawing of “cystocopy” on the internet, you can see where the outer end has to go so the instrument is pointed straight up to the bladder. Gently push forward, feeling to make sure you have a real passage and you are not poking a hole in yourself. Keep pushing. If one has an instrument with a hole, then when the urine flows you’re in the bladder. If the instrument does not have a hole, one has to do some measuring on himself.
What if you have an erection when you get in? Nothing bad happens. Just don’t try and bend the penis while it’s erect.
What happens if you ejaculate with it in? Nothing bad happens. I’ve done it several times with a hard instrument in, and with a Foley catheter. I feel better without something in the urethra.
