hope before long I am given little choice but to do as I am instructed………Do you have an examination coming up? Do let us know if you are being asked to do this.
My second pediatrician (age 11-17) would have me stand naked in front of him for the genital and hernia exams, and told me to put my hands behind my hide while he did that. He also checked out my arm pit hair in that position.
Real exam: very briefly to check glands in the underarms. Play exam: same but obviously a bit more drawn out.
I would normally ask my patient to put one arm at a time to start with for their breast examination but I will finish the breast examination by asking them to put both arms at the same time.
My real doctor has never asked me to put my hands behind my head during an exam. Play docs on the other hand totally have, and I loved it because it made me feel especially vulnerable and exposed. I recall one play doc who had me do this at the beginning of the exam while I was standing and he was doing a preliminary visual inspection. He had me do it again with me stretched out on his exam table.
My play doctor instructs me to put my hands on my head when standing before him to have my underpants removed for my genital examination. Likewise on his exam table face up my hands are above my head while he continues to examine and stimulate me for my semen sample.
Now that I think of it, after surgery to remove a lung due to a non-malignant cancer, I had regular check-ups and monitoring by an oncologist. One of the standards was checking all of my lymph nodes and that included those in my armpits. The only way to do that decently is to have the patient hold their hands above their head. This would happen with me either sitting upright or laying down on an exam table. Laying down was if she were going to do the whole set of nodes, including those in the groin.
My first real adult doctor did. He also had me down to my underwear and a gown. New doctor doesn't even do a simple physical.
Yes I have had a few playdoc exams in which I had to clasp my hands behind my head . After an intial exam lying down on my back with just briefs on . I was instructed to stand up . Then told to clasp my hands behind my head. As the playdoc put his fingers into the waistband of my briefs . Lowering my briefs down my legs and stepping from them . Which left me standing there naked for genital exam .
As a play doc, I ask the patients to keep their hands off their penile area. Only the Dr decides when and how to stimulate the patient. Also, during balance tests, it makes the lack of stability more visible.
Doc asking a male patient to place their hands behind their head exposes their pits, which is hot in my opinion. patient feels more exposed in that position as well. not having the ability to cover up. also allows the doc to pay close attention to the nervous sweat that forms in a patient's pits.
Not at a doctor's exam, but at a chiropractor/massage appointment. I was in a bad car accident and they had to work on my pectoralis muscle (located from the armpit to the collarbone). I had to lay down and sit up while she worked on that group of muscles.
I remember being asked to do this in front of my brothers and parents shortly after my underarm hair started to be very noticeable and I felt weirdly embarrassed about it. My younger brother was at that no-filter stage and blurted out “Jake has hair under his arms.”

Psychologically, that's about as submissive as it gets.
This is not something i have ever been asked to do.During my exams ive either been standing with my hands firmly down by the sides or when laying on the exam couch, either down by the sides or held across the chest as to not get in the way.
I've never been told to place my hands behind my head at an examination yet, it seems to me it would be a most submissive action, that i would find enhances the tension as restraint might also do
This is a standard procedure for a breast examination and is necessary to better evaluate any abnormalities. Yes it does leave the patient quite vulnerable, but is very necessary.
I do This at both my real and play exams. It’s mostly reflexive as it keeps my arms away from my abdomen.
I can't say I ever recall being told to put my hands behind my head. Good thing too considering how I suffered from uncontrollable erections in my puberty years. Having to keep my hands behind my head with my family members in the exam room would have been awful with a capital A.
When I get to the abdominal and genital exams I instruct the patient to keep their arms locked behind their head. It’s a very submissive position.
Yes, breast exam. But it's kind of fun to make your partner restrain themselves, e.g. “Put your hands over your head and keep them there (while I do things to you) or else there's a severe spanking in your near future.”
During my breast exam last thursday I was told to put my hand behind my head two times. When I was on my back, and for the visual, while I sat up, I also had to lean forward so they hang loose, still hands behind the head. I did enjoy. ☺️
Oh yes! My first play partner was my best friends. Lots of sleepovers! The first time she started to pull up my top, I was shocked and excited and pulled it down quickly. Then to my total surprise she said (with an evil grin) “I need to examine you Grace”. I was in shock. She gently said to put my hands behind my head and “relax”.I was so under her spell. That began some wonderful and naughty times between us.
I agree that is a very submissive position for males to be in and can add to the embarrassment and humiliation that the patient feels during the exam
I loved reading a lot of these posts. I definitely agree its a very sexy position to be placed in as a patient, and definitely helps with the doctor-patient power dynamic. In play exams, I loved having to put my hands behind my head as the doctor did the genital exam.
