In play, I love the vulnerability of standing completely naked, hands behind my head, legs spread while my examiner inspects my body, taking measurements and touching at will.I agree, vulnerable and embarrassing. I like to have my patient in the same position when I'm the doc, since I know how it feels for me I'm hoping it feels the same for them.
As others here have already said, never in real life, but I've included that position in some of the stories that I've written and posted here. I really like putting someone in that position because it makes them so very vulnerable. With their hands up behind their head and their feet spread apart, they know that they are completely exposed (assuming they are nude). And with their hands as far away as possible from their genitals, there's no chance of them using their hands to cover themselves for modesty.
When she examines my breasts, I am asked to put my hands behind my head and also during posture check, she has me place hands on my hips. Do you get posture checks as well?
Julie,When I was younger the doctor performed a posture check while I was standing in my underwear. I also had to bend over and touch my toes while she felt my back and spine. Sometimes, she would pull the waistband of my underwear and peek down my backside.I'd love to hear more about your posture checks. Are you completely naked when the doctor checks your posture? Do you have to balance on one leg, touch your toes, or walk the length of the exam room?
Never as an adult, but a few times as a kid during a sports physical we were told to put our hands on our heads for the hernia or testicle exam. Not sure why now. Maybe it was just to make sure that we didn't get our arms and hands in the way or that we didn't flinch when a doctor's cold hands touched us down there. A lot of our doctors in those days had been military docs so those customs may have been from doing lots of military group physicals or just how they were taught to do exams on kids.
ALWAYS during both real examinations and play exams. JockPhysical.com, my FAVORITE website now always has the guys with their arms behind their head... Makes them so much more vulnerable for their examination...
My doc always places one arm over my head while she examines the breast on that side. Then she lowers it, and raises my other arm up to examine the other side. I don't remember her ever asking me to do it, she always moves my arm there herself.
I have had it done in both. I understand why the doc wants to check the hair development under the arms but not sure how it relates to the genital exam.
I've never had to as an adult, but as a teen I had to do so at my school physicals so they could see how I was progressing with getting hair in my armpits.
I had to do this during a 'posture' exam when I was young.I was completely naked for this exam. The doctor looked at how I stood, from the front, both sides and the back. I then had to do various stretching and flexibility tests, which included putting my hands behind my head, and also bending over. I also had to walk back and forth across the exam room in various different ways.As you could imagine, it was extremely embarrassing.
I have never been asked to do this in a real exam. However in a play exam as a patient I am asked to do so frequently. Likewise, in a play exam as the doctor, I almost always ask my patients to assume that position.
Matt if you say you are 20 I doubt if you have ever had a school medical they are a thing of the past and as for checking amount of hair we are now in fantasy land
23, not 20! Maybe that's the case for those who attend state/day schools. I went to a private English boarding school which was 200 miles from home. Like most of the boys at school due to the distance I very rarely saw the family GP and the school doctors/nurses took care of nearly all exams/medical needs between the ages of 11 and 18. In the absence of our parents for most of the year the school took on some responsibility for our health. I agree that this is probably not something your average state comprehensive school, where pupils go home to their parents every night, would take on.
Lv2examn,Excellent to hear your physician does a thorough breast exam on you!!! Men DO GET BREAST CANCER!!! MEN DIE FROM IT!!! WHEN IT IS DISCOVERED IT IS USUALLY VERY ADVANCED AND OR IN N-Stage (final phase, death bed etc). WHY? Because it is often considered a female cancer and many men have their breasts and surrounding breast tissue rarely and or never examined by themselves or their physician on a regular basis. You should also be doing them monthly, just as you do your self testicular exams.Andie
I have never had a real doctor examine my breasts. It's a shame how superficial male health care is compared to what's standard for women. In my role teaching medical students, I've been lobbying for this to be a standard part of the male pelvic exam as it is for women. So far - deaf ears.
I do this in my exams for a couple reasons - one to assess puberty and development and two, so I can keep the guys hands out of the way while I examine his genitals.
Yes, I've had this a number of times. I have quite muscular pecs and a succession of docs often listen to my heart from almost under my armpit together with the other positions. I've also had genital exams with my hands behind my head.I also wanted to concur with London Matt about medicals with hands over my head in British public schools (as opposed to state run schools). My experience was exactly as his (sorry Bogart).
During my yearly physical I am asked to stand up and step in front of exam table, strip off my undies, if I haven't been told to strip nude earlier in the exam - and put my hands behind my head! That's for my doc the best way to perform a thorough genital check!Next step will be the hernia test! (please put your head beside and cough)Afterwards, you may guess, I am asked to turn around and bend over the exam table to have my bare bottom examined. The prostate check comes afterwards, when I can lie down on the exam table again. Then it comes to the most "intimate part" of my exam !
I always have my play patient do this when I examine her breasts. On many women, I find it useful to get a good listen at the apex of her heart/mitral valve and palpate her PMI.
I always ask my female play-patients to place their hands behind their heads during the breast exam. I get them to stretch back until her elbows are in a straight line with her wrists. I have received feedback from my most regular patient that: a) her 'real' doctor always asks her to do it and b) she loves my more rigorous approach and feels more vulnerable. As a play-patient I was asked to place my hands on my head the first time my (female) doctor gave me a standing genital exam. She usually examines my breasts thoroughly but I am only asked to keep my hands at my sides and pull back my shoulders.
During my yearly physical I am asked to stand up and step in front of exam table, strip off my undies - if I haven't been told to strip nude earlier in the exam - and put my hands behind my head!I had one doc who did annual physicals at work several years ago who instructed me to hold my arms out at the sides while i was standing, prior to the hernia test and also if he checked my testicles, the latter which he'd first ask if I wanted them checked (which sometimes i said yes & other times said my masseuses are on top of it)
Yes, I have been by real doctors but not recently. It's definitely a cool moment in some of my favorite exam memories.
