In the early 70's, we moved to a suburban area that grew around what was a small rural town. It had a family drugstore not affiliated with any of the major chains and it had an amazing "rubber goods" section. They had several types of enema/douche bags: Combination, open top, folding latex, and an interesting blue pumpkin type of thing that was a combination ice cap and syringe. They had several kinds of bulb syringes: Infant and adult sizes of enema bulbs, and of course, douche bulbs. Even a douche bulb with an adapter, hose, and nozzle for enemas too. They had a case with drawers where you could find replacement items such as: stoppers, douche and enema nozzles - several types and sizes, shutoff clamps, and hose. I remember only two disposable enemas which were just becoming more popular: Fleet, and another one whose name I don't remember that looked like an oversized toothpaste tube with an enema nozzle attached. I had to try it just to see. Nothing special, same basic ingredients as a Fleet. These days you only find the disposable enemas like Fleet and the store brand, some glycerin suppositories, and different laxatives in several forms. How boring.

Very much would like to travel back to the 60's, 70's and buy the sanitary belts and Modess and Confidet napkins my sisters wore! They were the sexiest things to me before the Stayfree Silhouettes pads in the 80's and 90's!
@Cheryl77177 They had a case with drawers where you could find replacement items such as: stoppers, douche and enema nozzles - several types and sizes, shutoff clamps, and hose.Oh yes! I remember seeing something like that in a store I once visited - but I was way too shy/scared to buy anything.... oh to go back and buy any of those amazing long black douche nozzles that were there. I don't remember how they priced them.. but no matter, imagine a guy taking one to the counter to buy 😳....
Davol amber latex folding syringe. Or a B.F. Goodrich Sojourn amber latex syringe with latex tubing, metal clamp, and black nozzles.
Going back 50 years is 20 years past the golden age of the real real cool enema bags , you would have to travel back to at least 1953 or even 1940 because by 1973 things have changed
Going back 50 years is 20 years past the golden age of the real real cool enema bags , you would have to travel back to at least 1953 or even 1940 because by 1973 things have changedTime marches on and people forget that. Good you pointed it out @Annie2 . My sub forgets that for "collectables". The current hot "collectables" are from the 70's which he doesn't even consider "old". As he grew up in that brown and avocado era.
@MissStress As he grew up in that brown and avocado era.Never heard of this expression. I'm guessing it has to do with colors that were popular at time?
Never heard of this expression. I'm guessing it has to do with colors that were popular at time?@reddevil you are correct. There is a yellowish color too but couldn't quite remember the name used.
There are people who believe that when you die, your entire life is replayed in fast-forward in your brain. For understandable reasons, no one has yet been able to confirm this. If that should really be the case, it should be comparable to a certain form of personal time travel. Not that I'm already crazy about such a trip, no, of course not. That can wait a bit. But maybe the subconscious then sets certain priorities, caused by certain stimuli of the now...
I'd need to go further than 50 years back, back to the era when the original JBL Cascade sit-on bag became popular as a "modern" alternative for enemas. I can only imagine being told by mom or grandma that I need to sit on the bag today! And then a serious discussion of the benefits of a good high enema while being impaled with a large nozzle and the hot soapy water spraying up into me. There's no hiding that uncontrollable erection either! It's pretty easy to come up with several fantasy scenarios with one of those!
No, those were long gone by the 50's - 60's when I was a kid. I got plenty with the bulb and bag though.
@Cheryl77177 I read with interest the earlier comment by eDaddy about using the Shy douche syringe for enemas. I bought one thinking...I remember seeing an add for a Shy douche syringe back some time ago; anyway for some reason it was something I wanted and had to get. As you mentioned, it really did not work well for enemas...
If I could travel back just one time … I would like to go back to age 10. Why? Mother gave me an outstanding enema one morning. It was an enema that I was not expecting and very loving. Mom had prepared the enema prior to waking me up. She also had made a type of bed on the floor for me and as she gave me the enema she gently rubbed both my stomach and back and encouraged me to take all my water….
A' full ' 2 quart ' combination fountain syringe ' red in color w / red hose , ' metal ' shut-off clamp w / infant / adult ' rectal ' pipes for enema use and a large ' douche nozzle ' all ' black ' in color . We had one ' just as described ' for our home enema / douche activities . This ' old bag ' was very serviceable as to repeated use and longevity . ' They ' just ' don't make em' like ' they ' used to .
Any. Kantleek from Rexal. (Drug stores)Mail order—any of the “best” from Sears or Wards.Anything with an in line pump bulb. One was called “force flow” which certainly appealed to the Dom/submissive in us, and the other “controlled flow” Can you imagine the marketing folks discussing this!Gdfru
One of those huge blue pumpkin bags that doubled as an ice bag. A Davol amber latex enema bag. Several of this very long curved douche nozzles with the large (about an inch in diameter) bulbous tips. Some were extremely long and intimidating. Those were the days.
@chamed I suspect some of the thick douche nozzle designs were intended as dildos, in a time when sex toys were illegal.
Just posted a couple of pics of the 1927 Sears Robuck, enema section. I know someone said they loved looking at the Wards 1942 catalogue bc there was nostalgic enema equipment in it. This is as close to it as I could find. Some might be interested in it.https://en.zity.biz/gallery/image/255255
I would buy the clean stream douche bulb with big hard plastic nozzle. I don't think they make them any more. I have looked all over the internet for one. no luck.. take me back take me back........
I used to admire the bulb type enemas in my nearby medical supply store. The bus would be caught in traffic and I could look into the store window for minutes as a time unobserved. The bright orangey red bulb seemed enormous, but even more so the long thick bakelite nozzle. It had a head on it almost identical to a circumcised penis. My uncle had always given me enemas with small nozzles and eventually a double balloon, but I fantasised about these devices.
Of course the JBL sit-on bag and then I would want the latex single (large) and the double balloon inflatable nozzles. The DBL I bought from Tyler Ent. in 1985 lasted twenty years😍
