I'm afraid you are probably going to have MANY years of disappointment.

why do you say that switchblade?
First, the name is SWITCHABLESUSIE.
As in a "switch" in BDSM, NOT BLADE like the knife.
Switchablesusie is OK
Switch is OK
Switchable is OK
Susie is OK
SS is OK (if we're close) π
NOT switchblade.

Now, to answer your question. π You are in for many years of disappointment because if ages 5-6 were the "best years of my life for sure," and you are in your late twenties, that means so far, more than 90% of your life has been well below your best years.
With all the things you're able to do as an adult that you weren't able to do as a 5-6 year old, the future doesn't appear to hold much promise for improvement. After all, what do you have to look forward to? A nagging wife, screaming kids that prevent you from doing other things you'll want to do, cleaning your kid's rooms, their clothes, keeping them healthy, listening to them talk about how cool they are and how your generation is ruining the world, paying your kid's bills and college, oh god, ESPECIALLY college, a big fat mortgage, car payments, school supplies, making sure you never lose your job, household repairs and maintenance, nannies, divorces, the list just goes on and on. . . .
IT ONLY GETS WORSE if you peaked at 5-6.
You have to convince yourself that all the undesirable and annoying things I have mentioned are FUN. That way the best is yet to come.
Without a house, a spouse and a family, and all that goes along with them, you might not be at the stage to appreciate what I have said yet, but let me assure you, IT'S ALL TRUE!
