They used to call it the "poopers" when I was a little kid. after that, I can't remember. I don't think it was mentioned much after I got a little older. Seems I'm the only one who hear that term.
In my family Fanny was used most often. Among friends I often used Butt or Ass. My favorite word now is Bum!
I guess we were/are verbose! To this day we use tush, tushie, heiney, and the immortal ¨toochis¨! I guess that may be a little ethnic for some!
Bum Bum was the term used in my family. Apparently, it was important to say bum twice, to cutesie it up, I guess.
As a child it was always "bottom". Using words such as bum or arse would certainly ensure a smack on the BTM!
Hinney was moms favorite and when we were alone sis liked to use "ass" to denote that part of the body.
I'm my day you got your fanny paddled to teach a lesson. If you were sick they took you temperature usually followed by an enema up your hiney
Exact word is bottom or bum. Confirmed at "favoritewords.com". It's very interesting and supportive website.
As a kid, I liked the word 'bum'. but Mum always used the term 'bottom'. Perhaps she thought it was more dignified.
Both mother and her mother generally called it our "bottom", although grandmother also called it our "bucket"????? I never heard that from any other relative or friends. Mom later settled on just "butt" I think. But grandmother also used the word "grunt" for the act of shitting, and also for the resulting turds - She may ask if we had gone "grunt" yet, or we might have to report to her that we had a hard (or in my case "large") grunt. My fraternal grandmother on the other hand, I don't think ever had occasion to mention anything like that. Although a farm wife all her life, and having raised 6 children, she'd positively shrivel up if she ever had to utter anything remotely connected with that. She may have mentioned going to "the toilet" but that was it.
Anything but (hey, he said...'butt') 'rear end,' 'bottom,' or 'seat' was considered vulgar in my family, especially 'ass' which was a no-no, and would guarantee punishment / admonishment. Even in the 70's it was considered profanity, at the other end of the scale from the F word but on it. Nowadays, the word 'ass' is commonly used, even in the media. In a medical context (my mother the RN) the terms 'rectum' and 'anal/anus' would come up only when dealing with specific conditions, including taking a 'rectal temperature.'I always liked the old term 'derriere' especially when referring to that of a well shaped lady...
My mom always called it my bottom or my tush. I had a neighbor whose family called it your hiney. Nurses at the doctors office used the word bottom, or sometimes rear end. I remember getting a shot at the doctors office when I was around 12 or 13 and the nurse said this needs to be given in your butt.
When i grew up, it was just "butt". Wipe your butt, spank your butt, move your butt, you shouldn't stick things up your butt...I don't think I ever heard another term for it until I figured out "ass" meant.I have 3 granddaughters and they all call it "booty" and they have to shake it any time they hear a song they know.
I spent a lot of time in the hospital when I was young. One of the nurses who took care of me frequently, always referred to it as my "caboose". I always thought that was kind of cute. 😃
Bottom most of the time. As I turned to a teen it was tushie, tush or booty and as I gor even older it is butt/ass.
